I played that through in about 3 days of light play. Really enjoyed it from a mindless action point of view. Wouldn't play it again for a while though.

Started The Longest Journey yesterday after finding it in a charity shop. It's a really good game, really interested to see where it goes.

Nearing the end of LA Noire. I just want to finish it, I like the story enough to continue, but I find everything else a little dull about it. Pretty much how I feel about every Rockstar game I've ever played. The game is far too long, a lot of it is filler. They could have saved themselves a lot of time and money had they filtered it down to what was essential. This may be exacerbated due to the version of the game I'm playing, as in the GotY edition, the DLC is very much integrated into the main storyline.

It's an interesting achievement though, don't get me wrong. Face mapping technology and hiring all those actors, the world is very authentic. Just not a very good game.

Just started God of war ascension. I friggin love Kratos. Never had a PS2, but as the first PS3 was PS2 compatible, picked up GOW 2 and although after a couple of mins I was ready to give up, became hooked. Since then played and completed the remakes of 1 and 2, 1 of the PSP remakes and 3. Just can't seem to get enough of the constant death dealing coupled with the awesome atmospheric music.

Yes?

You might like Dante's Inferno too then. God of War 3 is fantastic one of my favorite games on the PS3.

It's a brilliant game but some of the puzzles are appallingly obtuse, one in particular is impossible without looking at a walkthrough.

Still superb though.

Saints Row 2

Enjoying this quite a lot. The main missions are pretty enjoyable, and the variety of other activities is pretty impressive. Good fun they are as well, especially Fuzz, the drug trafficking and protection service.

Forza 3

Still plugging away with this. Some of the point-to-point races are enjoyable, and the shorter ones in general, but bloody hell the longer races really piss me off. Next race in my calendar is 15 laps of the New York circuit. :dread: It's an annoying enough track as it is, let alone 15 laps of it. :fp: My enjoyment of the game is massively affected by the length of the races.

Currently replaying Metroid Prime 3.

I love the Prime series, and this doesn't disappoint. It looked and felt a bit dated when I first booted it up, but actually the aesthetics shine through after those opening moments and I think it actually holds up pretty well. I really thought the motion controls made the game when I played it on launch so I was dismayed that I struggled with them this time. It's probably down to Motion Plus, as I got out of the habit of pointing at the screen. They work fine now, and definitely add to the game.

After Other M, I thought we had had enough Prime games and I welcomed the return to the old-school mechanics.

Now though, I definitely wonder what a Prime game could accomplish on the Wii U.

Mario 3D World is superb, though I'd like to map the sprint button to a shoulder button. I still prefer the Sunshine-esque World, but this has some wonderful ideas, and co-op works brilliantly.

Played a bit of Journey yesterday too, when I had 10 minutes spare. Went into it wanting to hate it, but ending up getting swept up in it and putting nearly an hour in.

I think Journey should be played the whole way through in one sitting as it really is wonderful that way

Need to replay it soon

Yes.

3 was better than Ascension IMO. But both turned out to be awesome. The music and bosses are amazing. :datass:

Fabian Delph is a banana split.

I love this game. I think it would be the best Prime if the last section was better. It felt like an anticlimax.

I'm at home until the day before Christmas, which is nice. Been playing PS3 with my brother. A bit of Arkham Origins, which is a very different game to the PC version - definitely not as polished and I think actually looks worse than Arkham City graphically, and the framerate is quite poor - make fights quite odd and stuttery. On PC it was a completely different experience.

Also playing Sly Cooper 4 and really enjoying it. The first few levels aren't very good but the Medieval England one is great and reminds me of my favourite Sly level - Transylvania in Sly 2.

On the whole it's a worse game than 2 or 3. The Bentley hacking levels are tolerable at best, and generally awful. Most of the levels aren't that polished in terms of traversal and giving you that Sucker Punch level of fantastic platforming. Still, we're enjoying it. Doubt we'll bother 100%ing it though.

It's a bit too linear, I think. You often just get given little missions that push you around levels and it doesn't quite have that sense of isolation and freedom that the other games have.

It was the same with Echoes mind, with you given tasks by the Luminoth. Still great though.

Playing through Starbound (PC).

I didn't like Terriara but this is meant to be even better due to quests system / interaction with NPCs. So far I'm at slow start, but it does ease me in better than Terriara. Plus, it helps that it looks nicer, HUD is loads better, and text font I like. (Yes I'm picky) It's bit buggy but according to some people I shouldn't have crashes, I guess all I can do is betatest it and report any problems when having mucking around on it.

Megaman X Command Mission on GameCube. I was looking for a GameCube RPG that I hadn't played before and since you aren't exactly spoiled for choice I picked this up for a tenner off eBay recently. It's pretty decent if basic JRPG, not as easy as I was lead to believe however and the encounter rate is a bit too high with little reward for your troubles.

I've been playing about 6 hours and I'm up to Chapter 4. Anyone know about how long this game is/how many chapters there are?

Toki Tori 2, really interesting from a design point of view. The game is exceptionally minimalist with regards to player info. It leaves to figure out things for yourself, with subtle hints. I really like the approach and format change feom the first game. It almost like a Metroid game in some ways. I likey.

In the Hearthstone beta, and after having trouble for ages beating the Paladin and Rogue, I smacked them both down one after the other

Now just for that bloody Priest deck and then i'll have all of them.
