Battleblock Theater. I'm on the 8th world. I'm really digging this. The later level designs are quite clever. Platforming mechanics are pretty tight. Surprising stuff, I heard no hype for this game back on release. It really fell under my radar, platforming games are my favourite genre, I can't believe I missed this.

Legend of Zelda

Though I should give this a go, playing on the Gamecube.

It's pretty good. Dungeons range from easy to tricky, but the bosses are laughably easy. The most difficult part is finding the items and hidden bits that you need to progress, but are really obscure at times. Just doing the final journey.

Viewtiful Joe - Gamecube

Never really played this before so giving it a playthrough now ( on kids mode mind  )
Still looks and plays well, wish Platinum would get the rights to the IP

Grim Dawn

It's still at beta/early access but it seems to be a pretty decent Diablo style loot 'em up, it's a bit less polished than Diablo III but better than the free-to-play Path of Exile.

It's nice and gloomy too.

I've been playing this recently on Wii U virtual console, it is still bloody good and easily the best 2D Metroid game.

I'm so ready for a new Metroid.

I've started playing Saints Row 2. I was IV that grabbed my interest, but I also tried out 3 with Games for Gold, and while I'm sure there's no point in playing the older games for the story as such, it did seem like it would be a benefit to know the world and the characters.

Obviously it feels pretty dated now, but I'm enjoying for the most part. I'm sure I must be doing something wrong with this respect meter though. Ideally it would be nice to jump on in the evening and play 2-3 missions, but instead I have to do a side activity that involves spraying gooseberry fool over buildings or picking up a couple of ladies of the night before every single mission.

IV draws from the plots from all the other games as part of wrapping up the series as a whole, so they are definitely worth playing. Otherwise people and things will crop up in IV and you'll be like "who the strawberry float is this and why does The Boss care?" rather that "oh gooseberry fool, THEM! Wow, that's cool, things are going to get real!" I keep meaning to pick up the original as I've played all the rest, and there were some bits in 4 that referenced the first game that I didn't get or appreciate as much as if I had played it.

I played/completed SR 2 a while ago, and didn't have that problem. Thinking about it, it was probably because I went on a bit of a spree of trying all the side activities before I really tackled the main missions. Presumably - without realising it - I racked up my respect and that meant I didn't have to dick around before missions. I was pretty much doing what you described, 2-3 missions each time I played. Might be worth spending a bit of time doing loads of side activities to ramp up the respect.

Truth, I beat the game last night and the ending was so funny. I absolutely lost it when the buckle your pants song came on.

The end of chapter rants were the greatest though.

Puppeteer

Liking it but there is one thing really bringing it down; the princess won't shut the strawberry float up. Like listening to my Aunty Silvia. She goes on & on & on & it doesn't help if in a tricky bit.

Just a minute ago she asked something, you can tell it was totally inane as I can't remember.
Earlier whilst in the sea she was asking if she could have what's on the menu?. Shut up greedy bitch. We're at the bottom of the ocean & all you can think about what there is too eat. We're not at Frankie & Benny's now.

Mount and Blade: Warband

I spent two whole bloody hours last night playing a single siege defense for a castle my character was only in because I needed to buy supplies. If the game ever wants me to fight 1000 people again I'm just fleeing

Downloaded Strider on PS4. Doesn't seem to require any sort of skill to play. You just run along very fast and mash square to win.

Shame, as it's clearly got potential.

Skyrim (PC) still.

Though I'm stuck at bit where I even can't backtrack for bit and re-supply, because the door behind me locks and I spent while trying to fight stupid ice mage. I honestly hate fighting mages in this, more so if it's ice ones (mainly due to lv3 spell in really narrow path is dangerous) D:

I do have earlier save but was hoping I can overcome it... no good. >.<

Pullblox World. I am way too stupid to play this game. The baby puzzle took me about 20 minutes to figure out :fp:

Darksiders

Wasn't really expecting much going into this, having played the demo a while ago, but I picked it up for about £4 in a recent sale. I'm really enjoying it. It's fairly mindless action, and not particularly challenging, but it's fun nonetheless, and I'm pleasantly surprised. Looking forward to playing it some more, after a couple of hours this morning.

Sniper Elite III (PC)

Enjoying this a lot. I'd never heard of the Welrod gun before, so googled it. Turns out it was made in my town (Welwyn), in some mansion which was turned into a lab of sorts, called Station IX where new weapons & gadgets were developed for special ops (like Q in Bond).
All of these weapons & gadgets have Wel in their names. Mind Blown.

But yeah, the game seems fun so far, and the noise mechanic works well.

The game is really linear, once you get the option to choose the size of the project you become limited to AAA games because anything smaller than AAA will not be able to go high than a 7 which I really hate because I want to be able to make small game projects that get good scores. It's a fun game but it is incredibly flawed.

It's pretty addictive but yeah it feels really limited as a game. I can kind of tell that there isn't that much to do already even though I only have four employees in the first office. I would like the game to allow more research options so I could see what other companies are doing and do more market testing stuff.

I've just finished with this. I had a lot of fun in my 9 hours of play time but once you realise just how extremely linear and limited it is, it loses all appeal. It's a great idea though and with the depth of something like Sim City it could be an excellent strategy sim.

It feels more like a pitch than a complete game.

Dynasty Warriors 8 - Steam Complete Edition

Only got this cus Mosgter made me ( :shifty: ) but finding it hard to stick with. After manually configuring the 360 controller (which still has no button prompts) I've failed the first mission twice - that wouldn't be so bad, but it throws you back to the title screen straight away. So you have to go through all the menus/character selection/skip the cutscenes before you can go again...:S

Not sure why, but the games not clicking and that sort of cumberson and overly intensive (although obviously it's not that intensive :P) interface isn't helping

Yeah, the prompts were a bit of an issue to start with but once you've memorised the controls it's fine. I shouldn't have bought it yet though because TOO MANY GAMES.
