Xcom Enemy Unknown. Had this for about a year ever since it was given away on PS+ and finally started it. Don't know why I waited so long to do so as it's brilliant. A wonderful mix of Fire Emblem and Valkyria Chronicles, two of my favourite games.

The PS3 version runs like dogshit, though. :dread: I'm so glad it's a slow, turn-based game as it would probably be unplayable otherwise. I've never seen juttering and screen-tearing this bad in a game before. :|

Well I wanted to play God of War Ascension as it arrived from Boomerang this morning, unfortunately it's currently downloading the 5th update out of 9 so it doesn't look like I'm playing this tonight :|

Been playing WipeOut HD, Mario Kart 8 and Tales of Graces f.

I'm enjoying Wipeout HD that I pretty much set the difficulty to Novice to learn the tracks as well which ship I'd want to use, got all novice gold on all events on set#1 to #5 :) I'll probably make jump to Standard difficulty once I've beaten WipeOut HD campaign on Novice (don't have HD Fury yet).

Mario Kart 8, mainly because my HDMI cables arrived from Amazon so I've been playing MK8 for first time on big telly in my bedroom. Love the game but it does annoy me so if it gets too much I turn it off, haha.

Graces F mainly because I've left it unbeaten for long, I don't think I'll do secrets or anything - I just want to progress mostly.

Still hugely enjoying Sniper Elite III. I actually have two games on the go - one on PC and one on my PS4. Can't really decide which version I enjoy more. Noticed there's some more DLC out today for the PC game - 'Save Churchill' (first of three parts) - and a new 'Patriot' weapon pack for SP/MP, so I had to purchase that. I have no interest in the MP game at all, but I've bought all the SP DLC and will carry on doing so. Can't get enough of the game. I love the slow, sneaky gameplay and the levels are big enough to take quite some time to explore. I'd say this is one of my favourite games this year, so far.

Oh lord, over two months into a game of Xcom (in-game time) and I've only just realized how to build satellites. :fp: I couldn't figure the strawberry floating thing out for the last few days and then today I just randomly found the option in the 'bought' section of the buy items part under the engineering tab. They strawberry floating hid it well enough, didn't they?! FOR strawberry float SAKE! A satellite is not an item! Here I am building workshops and having satellite uplinks up the wazo and all this other gooseberry fool thinking I needed more before it would let me build one. So much time and money wasted. Not to mentions missions lost because I had no satellite coverage. Goddamn it. I just bought 15 in one go and now have to wait 20 days for them to be built. :fp:

Got to the final boss on FTL but ran out of missiles. The game is crazy.

WRC 4 (Vita)

Picked this up on sale from the PSN store and I haven't been disappointed. It's been a good few years since I last played a WRC game (I'd read 3 on Vita was a big let-down) but 4 has tons of content which is supposedly on-par with the PS3 version. Graphics do the job but they're fairly basic, think a higher resolution PSP game as opposed to what we know the Vita is capable of. Handling model is a lot of fun and there's a good degree of customisation throughout the career mode where you'll work your way up from WRC junior category through each race weekend on stages that often change surface throughout and you really feel the difference in the handling.

Definitely worth the 12 quid on PSN and an easyish plat too if that appeals to anyone.

God of War Ascension. It's okay, not the best in the series... in fact it's probably the worst but a decent game nonetheless. I was rather enjoying it until it crashed while I was chasing some guy who I assume is going to be a boss causing me to force a system shutdown :(

Xcom punished the gooseberry fool outta me, I found it to be really hard all of a sudden, outta nowhere there's a mission in a graveyard or something and they just strawberry float yo up.

Fun game though.

Fallout 3

I'm about 8 years late to the party here, but wanted to play it at some point. It's been decent so far, couple of hours in. Clear to see where Skyrim got a lot of its design from, and it looks better than I thought it would. Haven't really got stuck into it yet, just done a couple of missions after leaving the vault. Could be a big time sink.

Fallout 3 is amazing. Once you've found your feet, just head out and explore.

God of War Ascension is pissing me off. I've always played the series on hard mode but this just takes the piss. I'm up to Trial of Archimedes and as I understand it not far from the end but I just can't get past this strawberry floating enemy gauntlet on some bastard elevator. Gonna have to start this again on normal... not strawberry floating happy!!!

Can't you just switch to normal mid game?

Yes?

Metroid Fusion, enjoying it just as much as Zero mission. A bit too much story at times, rather like the silent protagonist a tad more. Once again cements the franchise as one of my all time favs.

Oh yes. Fallout 3 is my favourite video game. I dont give it that accolade lightly; I've loved the Pro Evo series for years but Fallout 3 was just amazing. I also enjoyed all of the DLC; they're chunky add-ons that deliver a lot of enjoyment.

I've just started The Last of Us on PS3. I'm only thirty minutes into the game, but it's already easy to accept that I was an idiot for not playing this sooner. I hadn't realised that next-gen actually started last June; it's an incredible technical achievement and the atmosphere... well... it's totally wow.

That's what I wanted to do but there doesn't seem to be an option to do that. I'm sure in earlier entries to the series if you kept dying on a particular part the game would prompt you to turn the difficulty down but that doesn't seem to be the care here.

Advance Wars. Turns out I'm at the final mission. I remember this game being harder. I've steamrolled every mission before this one. I don't I ever managed to beat this mission years ago. Hopefully I can do it now.

It's been a long time, but IIRC you have to play Andy in the middle, and if you do the missions leading up to it correctly Grit on the right and Max on the left is the best mix.

If you've done it wrong the worst, again IIRC is Sami on the right and Kanbei on the left.

Advanced Wars DS is still my fav
