A dozen or so levels into Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze and loving it. I was a massive fan of the last game, despite not really getting on with the SNES games, and more of the same in HD suits me just fine. The way the game lures you into playing in a certain rhythm and then throws something counterpoint at you is, for a pretty transparent mechanic, simply awesome. Never have so many deaths been met with such massive grins - it's slapstick comedy at its finest.

LEGO Harry Potter 5-7

Closer to a 5 than 7. I actually really enjoyed LEGO Batman 2 (I say actually because a few people said it was a port f a poor version of the game) on Vita but this in comparison isn't as good. The building mechanic feels slower and I've actually got stuck on it a couple of times  But it hasn't put me off my new found love of licensed LEGO games, and I will be getting LEGO Marvel on PS4 and maybe LotR/Hobbit on PS3.

I was playing the first game on my 3DS over the weekend and there was a level where you have to outrun a literal avalanche of spiders.

Still going with Front Mission 3 but the stage I'm up to is doing my head in. I can get the gold medal every time no problem but just can't get the platinum for love nor money. The total number of attacks target is around 30 but I always reach around 50 which incurs a 15% rating penalty and the total turns target is around 8 but I can't do it in less than 11. The only way I can see of improving this is to increase everybody's weapon level a little but then I'll incur a penalty for the average weapon level being too high.

Might push on ignoring the platinum medals and just get the game finished but I understand you need 35 of them by a certain point in the story to gain access to a really powerful Wanzer.

Dark Souls 2 (PS3) - I like it but I'm not enjoying it as much as Demon's and Dark Souls and I can't quite put my finger on the exact reason why yet. In some ways it feels very polished compared to it's predecessors and in others it feels worse but I am still enjoying it.

Deus Ex Human Revolution Director's Cut (PC) - Playing this again mainly for the DLC which I haven't tried yet. I'm going for no alarms and no kills too so that is keeping things interesting in the parts that I have been through before.

Chrono Trigger (3DS) - Still amazing, what else can I say? I have 10+ unplayed 3DS games as well that this is keeping me away from :shifty:

Dishonored - bought it real cheap in steam sales. Its great! Best stealth game I've played in ages, although some of the powers reduce the difficulty to near zero. I enjoy lurking in shadows then blinking up and strangling the enemies!

I've no idea how far in I am but it's definitely not gripped me like it seems to have gripped the rest of the world. I've got to a bit where I jumped down on to an elevator shaft, boosted Ellie up to a window and then the lift gave way and I fell in to some water at the bottom. Trying to get back up to her now. Just turned on some generator thing which made strawberry float tons of clickers appear and I turned the game off. I still don't know how the game ends (although I have my suspicions) but i'm not that fussed about finding out at the moment. Although the combat does feel so.. meaty and satisfying. Love getting in to a brawl with someone.

I've one from being a bit meh about the game to having just played it for five hours and now am 3/4's of the way through it. I've met Walt & Walt Jnr from Lost, Joel's brother and have just explored the university science lab before someone started shooting at me and I figured I should take a break. Reckon i'll get this finished tonight with any luck. Only taken me since launch. :fp:

Killer 7.
I accidentally on purpose won this in an ebay auction (I bid thinking I'd lose) and you know what it is totally worth the £19. I don't get why I never persisted with it the first time the way I am now, it's awesome and I wish there were more games like it. There are some bits that can strawberry float off like the crap bosses but everything else works great. You can tell Mikami worked on this because there is something very "Resident Evil" about the puzzles. It's going to come off as a weird compliment considering what Killer 7 is like but I like the character movement, I know it's on rails but the way each room is designed along with the movement and interaction controls give the game this flow that I really like, it feels slick.

Think I'm nearing the end of Etrian Odyssey IV. Seem to be at the base of the Yggdrasil tree. My team is wrecking faces, my Landswhatever is a beast. She does like 700 damage on a good turn. Considering I spent most of Untold struggling through (even random battles at that end), this is quite welcome. This game is way more accessible than Untold. I like it more for that and a few other reasons.

Only thing that has annoyed me is the change in random battle music in the second half of the game. I love the first theme too much and could never bore of it. These games have some really excellent soundtracks.

I'm still cracking on with Front Mission 3. I have enough of the platinum medals to acquire the Wanzer with the beam cannon now. I'm not doing too badly I have done 45 missions and have 35 platinum medals and 10 gold. Not sure how long I have left to go.

Just encountered a random glitch in Metro Last Light where all the bad guys have turned into mannequins  They're alive, shouting at me, etc, but they cannot move or shoot. They're just standing there like statues. Awesome. Makes this stealth section so much easier!

F-Zero GX

My God, this game is incredible. I managed to get to mission six of the story mode on normal mode, with the first two missions completed on hard mode, in the space of the past couple of hours. It's still challenging, but ten years' of experience have definitely shone through tonight. The game runs without any major hiccups on my PC which contributed a lot to me being drawn into it so easily tonight. It's a great game to complement Xenoblade so I'll probably juggle them both.

No spoilers please as in a few hours later but did you also find the swimming and camera completely awful? I swear I got stuck under the surface unable to surface for no reason causing me to die over and over again.

Also at that point with the generator, the strawberry floating game repeatedly saved over my "locked and loaded" prep save with autosaves (game is well known for saving almost constantly).

Anyway, after about 20 deaths from another one of the tank strawberry floater, I just hit him (it?) with a molotov and ran away. Wandered back wondering why things were so quiet and he'd been reduced to a smoldering pile of ashes. so try that.

Story mode in that game is strawberry floating horrific. I don't think I got past the 3rd of 4th episode.

I've just failed to do chapter six about three times but this game is amazing! I completed the Ruby Cup (the first cup) on standard to unlock enough tickets to buy chapter six. Even on standard, the AI has its moments but I managed to get about 2 seconds ahead by the end of the final race (Aeropolis). Racing around that track as fast as possible was nothing short of incredible!

F-Zero GX

I literally just beat chapter 7, The F-Zero Grand Prix. I had to restart it quite a few times because I was falling off the track or I wasn't going to finish first. On my victory run, I was about 7th right until the last stretch where I boosted over the lava, into the shield recharge zone, and kept boosting to the finish line, over some more lava. I just managed to take first place not far from the finish line. I really didn't think that I was going to win on that run!

EDIT: I managed to get the the fifth race of the Emerald Cup with a perfect score but, after crashing out once, the game froze in the middle of the race. There were a couple of moments of slowdown in the earlier races of that cup but nothing too drastic. All of that notwithstanding, this is still an incredible game!

You can see the inspiration of some of the tracks in Mario Kart 8 and some of the tracks in this game are wonderfully designed. One of my favourites is Lightning - Half Pipe in the Emerald Cup which has no sides for the vast majority of the race making it a very tense track, especially when you're going as fast as you can around some of the sharper turns. The physics engine in this game is amazing because going too fast over certain parts of the track can give you some serious, and potentially dangerous, airtime.

Played Mega Man 5 this morning, up to Wily stages. I haven't played this one before, I'm liking parts of it and hating others.

Likes - The gravity level was awesome. Seriously awesome. Some of the bosses have been fun to fight so far, standouts being the platform boss in Wily's fortress and the last Protoman boss. They got rid of that annoying thing where if you change your weapon on a ladder, you fall off it.

Hates - The enemy placement is a bit annoying at times. And it has those strawberry floating jump out of a hole badguys that MM4 started. Some very frustrating level design as well. I also get the impression that the weapons in this one suck ass.

Divinity: Original Sin

115 hours played and still haven't finished it.

Near the end now but still have a few sidequests to do first.

F-Zero GX

The Deathborn story mission is pretty tricky. He shoots out ahead for a lot of the race so it's tricky trying to catch him while navigating the sharp corners, mines and lava pits. In other news, I finished both the Emerald and Diamond Cups on standard difficulty.

I took out so many racers in the Diamond Cup that I was over 100 points clear of my nearest rival before the final race. This was helpful because Phantom Road was very narrow and tricky so I decided to play it safe and just finish the race, especially as I was down to my last two ships. I ended up finishing that race 25th out of about 28 racers.

On another race, in the same cup, I was boosting to take first at the end of the last lap but I used up all my energy, hit something and crashed out. My ship managed to pass the finish line before it exploded and I finished 5th 8-)

I've just started The Legend of Dragoon on PlayStation. I've just left the starting village and I'm currently grinding the special attacks of the main character Dart.
