Now that FF8 is done I started FF9.

Sadly I am stuck on this dumb jump rope mini game, I need to do 50 jumps and I can only constantly get 21-23, highest 35... So I'm just playing it off and on until I achieve that then I can carry on. No way am I going for 1,000 jumps trophy anytime soon.

Chapter 4 done on Paper Mario, elements of that chapter were good (the premise of being inside a toy box was neat!) but there was a lot of back and forth.

Still dipping into Animal Crossing as its the only strawberry floating game I have. I really need a job or a wee bit of luck.

Failing that,I'll happily take a careless driver running through a red light.

Rapidly-greying is Mediocre to Average at games :fp:

Finished FFVII Rebirth last night. Overall pretty good (mainly due to nostalgia), but had a lot of buildup to a pretty poor end IMO. I'll of course play the third one. I was going to play the OG game (with mods) next, but I'll give that a while now.

I've started the first Horizon instead. I've played the first few hours before, but I think something else I was interested in released at the time so didn't get too far.

Just finished Ever Oasis on 3ds. I'd been dying to play it for ages, and I'm really glad I finally got to sit down and play it. It's such a delightful game. Even though I've completed it, I'm going to try and find everyone you can recruit to the oasis now!

I ended up using autoscript so I can get 50 jumps out of way. :slol: Kept hitting 45 as my personal best and I just wanted to play the damn game.

Made to Disc 3; loving the game. I do remember a bit I'm dreading is coming up soon though but shouldn't take me long anyway. I'd be happy gamer when I can say I've beaten FF9... but until then, taking my time and enjoying getting lost in the world.

That would be the best Final Fantasy game if disk 4 wasn't a mess. The last boss just comes from nowhere.

I played through it this time last year and had a blast anyway. It's a great game still. The speed up function was invaluable.

The only thing I don’t really like about 9 is the world map. The mist continent is wonderful, but the rest is pretty much just unpopulated wasteland. The only two settlements are tiny and run down. This basically means that once you head overseas, there’s not a lot else to it, so as you progress through each disc it becomes less and less memorable

Rise of the Ronin - PS5 - enjoyable enough, I fully expect to forgot this game once I finish it was nothing is standing out so far.

Mario RPG - Switch - just started this today, 3 hours in so far. Very enjoyable and easy to play.

Wish my image sig would work

Guacamelee 2 (Switch) -
As much fun as the first game; love the humour, always does something to make me smile.

Bayonetta (PS5) -
Just finished Chapter 4; the QTEs and the camera can be a pain in the ass but I'm starting to enjoy it more now I'm getting a hang of it, ie. I've progressed from the initial button mashing. Still feel a complete noob though.

Xenoblade Future Redeemed. It's decent so far. Rex had a great introduction.

Future Redeemed is such a good game, it really builds on the systems of 3 and makes exploring very rewarding. As a package with Xenoblade Chronicles 3 it's an amazing experience. Runs well on switch too with fantastic monster size and draw distance.

The day tune for the first area is a strawberry floating banger.

I love seeing Shulk and Rex again. I hope it fills in on what has happened to the other characters.

Playing through Dark Souls 1 Prepare to Die edition on PC (not the remaster),as I've never played more than 15 hours/rung both bells.

Have completed all other soulsborne games (bar Sekiro if you count that) and kind of fancied taking in what is apparently the best world design of any of them, spurred on by the release of Dragon's Dogma 2 which has a similar esthetic and Kriken mentioning he's doing the same.

Blighttown was the chore I thought it was going to be - too many frustrations working against the player. Ignoring what's meant to be there it is too confusing to navigate and there are too many platforms where it looks like you can jump/drop to but you slide off and fall to your death.

I gave up at this area my first time playing, but I realise now I took the Valley of Drake's entrance said first time which is a much easier path to the boss. I think at the time I saw the poison swamp and assumed I shouldn't be there yet, but now I have played more of them I knew I just had to grin and bear it.

I got to the bottom via the Sewer entrance and was having to use humanities to restore my health to keep going, used all my cure poison items and was having an awful time desperate for a bonfire which I could not find. I did find the boss down there though, with half a health bar and no estus flasks, woo. Died trudging about trying to find a bonfire.

Second attempt down there and I stumble on the bonfire at the bottom straight away. Why they couldn't have just put that one in an easier to see spot I don't know. Beat Queelag second or third try however.

Now on to Sen's Fortress, the first area I have seen none of before!

Pro Evo 2018 (PS4)
This is going to be a staple for a good while I think. Few matches throughout the week, nice to dip into.

Resogun
Same as above. Still enjoying it, still things to unlock and do. Will be playing this for months to come.

Driveclub
Think I've gone through the main mode once now, and unlocked what events I can. Will be dipping in every now and then to chip away and getting all the stars on each event and levelling up the cars, etc. Still yet to try the bikes, which I'm looking forward to.

Tomb Raider (PS4)
Still enoying this, although it's starting to approach 'this is going on a bit too long' territory. It's beginning to feel like they didn't know when to stop and are just dragging it out. I'm hoping it wraps up soon because otherwise it'll go from being one of those games which is really great, to just becoming a slog and tarnishing what makes it good.

Dead or Alive 5: Last Round (PS4)
Short of going through the same modes over and over again with the same few characters, I've pretty much exhausted the free version of this now. If it had been a full, proper game, I might've considering picking this up, but I'm not buying into the bullshit approach they've taken here. Shame they've strawberry floated the series like this, but I've had a bit of fun with no outlay on this.

Quake (PC)
I've done three out of the four episodes on this now. There might be an extra episode or something as well. It's okay, still. Pretty mindless and not as good as I'd expected or hoped, but I'll keep going with it.

Retrowave (PC)
I've just started this. Seems decent, not really much to it, but the soundtrack's good. Again, one to dip in and out of. I like the idea of buying and upgrading cars, and it seems like there's a decent selection of levels/stages. Hope the gameplay gets mixed up a bit, feels a bit basic based on the first 20-30 mins I've played.

I got pretty lucky at the beginning - the first two black knights dropped a Black Knight Sword and Shield so the +3 Sword has been killing most things in 2 hits, hopefully that alleviates some of the pain!

Also I have set myself a challenge to parry every parryable enemy in the game, and I believe I have done that for every enemy I've encountered. Did the snake soldiers as soon as I entered yesterday!

Started playing Minit tonight, this is the little action RPG where you get 60 seconds to explore before you die. Neat little game, like the original Zelda.

Got chapter 5 of Paper Mario finished last night, the boss was probably the hardest fight in the game so far, had to retry it a few times with different badges. Now to find out where I need to go for chapter 6, as oddly, the game hasn't thrown any major hints at where I need to head, so guess I need to wonder around and talk to people in Toad Town.
