Oh boy are you in for a fun and not at all frustrating experience :shifty:

Sen's Fortress was the location that put and end to my fourth and most likely last attempt to get through Dark Souls. Such bullshit.

Quoting myself, but I pretty much stumbled into Chapter 6  Turns out the items I'd found so far, were what I needed t progress! Chapter 6 has been good so far, just defeated the cloud machine and now in the sky, so guessing another boss is coming soon? Ok, while I've been writing this I've got to the boss, another not great boss really......

Chapter 6 was my least favourite chapter. Chapter 7 though 8-)

Just beaten the boss of Chapter 6 on the 3rd try :toot:

Chapter 6 was ok, the constant back and forth wasn't great though. It's annoying how little exp even new enemies give out in this, boss fights don't give out a load either.

I always enjoy hearing people's thoughts on the various areas of Dark Souls 1. It seems like Undead Parish and Anor Londo are the only zones that everyone agrees are good! Two out of, err, fifteen-or-so(?) ain't bad...? :slol:

This will be a surprise to no-one, but I personally think both Blighttown and Sen's Fortress are fantastic zones.

Aaron, I wasn't able to catch your Blighttown segment but I suspected you might take the back entrance (ahem). The total freedom you have to do that, if you know how (from a past playthrough, or have heard how from another player!), is part of why I like DS1 the most out of the Souls games.

Not even sure I'd agree Anor Londo is great. It takes ages to traverse that outside bit and those archers are stupidly placed.

Weirdly, I also love Blighttown.

Haven't (can't) played Dark Souls but enjoyed watching Yahtzee's playthrough of it when he was 'helping' his gf play it for the first time.

Had some utterly hilarious moments with him just repeatedly shouting "Estus, Estus, Estus!" when things got tough.

Managed to get to the start of Chapter 7 on Paper Mario after a little wondering around in the sewers, at least I should definitely have this finished come April  Unless I'm woefully under-levelled and can't be bothered grinding with the laughably low star points on offer.

Started Red Dead Redemption on Switch last night, I did play some of it back on 360 but never finished it/got super far into it. Seems good so far, only played an hour so it’s all still setting things up/teaching the basics but I like it. Runs and looks good on the Switch OLED too!

Made a start on Chapter 7 of Paper Mario, this is going to be a little like chapter 6 off of TTYD :toot:

Edit, reached what I assume is the boss, brilliant chapter so far! Although I had no idea stats were capped in this, hit 50hp, will work on BP next till thats at 30 (or whatever I end the game on).

Been getting stuck into the first Dragon’s Dogma. Not very far yet in terms of the main campaign but I’m just taking my time exploring and doing side quests since I know a lot of them become missable as the story progresses.

According to the PlayStation app I've put about 36 hrs into this so far and I feel I've barely scratched the surface, this could take a while

About 40 hours in to Person 3 Reload and i'm really enjoying it. I had never played it (P3) before, so this remake really feels as modern as 4 and 5 did to me.

I played it in such a strange way because I didn't really get what the game was for such a long time. Played most of the game fat rolling and heavy attacking with the zweihander. No idea how I managed to get so far like that.

I liked blighttown, but then I had the master key so I'd approached it in a different way but didn't know. I didn't really like manor londo - it looked epic but was pretty empty and just full of thought enemies with little variety imo.

Alone in the Dark. Two chapters into Emily’s story, and enjoying it quite a lot. Combat isn’t the best (so run away!) and there are some glitches, but I don’t get how some of the review scores are so low. It’s not meant to be Resi 4, thank god! Nicely slow-paced, and absolutely dripping in atmosphere.

Having played both the original and the remastered Dark Souls I can comfortably say original Blight Town is insufferable but the remastered version is perfectly fine. The original in general is a bit of a mess in terms of how badly it runs at times.

Now I've beaten Final Fantasy IX main story I can say FF9 is my favourite game without feeling odd that, I erm, haven't beaten it  The final area is bit dull as it was very linear which is shame after how amazing final zone was in FF8; but the story/lore is top notch and Hades was fun superboss. I'm not done with it as I want to do optional stuff and potentially look into doing speedrun for Excalibur II trophy - just for now it's on 'pause' as I've been playing Theatrhymth Final Bar Call on PS5, loving it so much. Working on going through every title on story mode while swapping out party members to fit the titles I'm playing through then when I've seen the credits roll I'll go back and do missions I didn't meet first time through while building team of my favourites.

It has easy trophies too :eyes: Just takes while and to be honest I can see myself playing more even after having platinum trophy. I dunno if it beats Curtain Call since handheld + touch screen is godbless, but this is still great. Glad I picked it up in current sale.

Finished off Paper Mario earlier today, compared to TTYD the last boss was very easy, forgot to switch a couple of badges out so I could have made it even easier for myself really. Loved it though, such a wonderful game, glad I finally got around to playing it.

Means I'm now not playing anything of course.
