Have you played River City Ransom or Star Tropics yet?

Played a bit of RCR, going to go back to it at some point. Not touched Startropics yet as I don't like to play multiple RPGs at once and I'm currently working through FFXII.

Cool was just wondering your thoughts on RCR as that game still blows away :lol:

Went back to Phantasy Star Online Episode III Gamecube via my Wii. I love this game so much. I know it was a huge departure from Episodes I&II(which I love more) but the card system was so addictive and the story line was actually really well done :wub:

The other day I started files on Mystic Quest, Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana 2 (aka Seiken Densetsu 3) and Terranigma.

Does it count if you're playing on XBLA etc?

If so I've been playing Smash TV and R-Type 1&2

Man I forgot how brutal R-Type is. I keep getting r@ped from behind.

I didn't know until after beating the game twice that you can shoot the metal blades in multiple directions... :shifty:

I'm probably very late realising this (19 years, actually :lol:

), but I've been playing Sonic 1 in NTSC mode on Gens, rather than PAL.

It's like a completely different game. :shock:

So much smoother, responsive and generally better. Feels like I'm playing it how it should have been all along. Can't believe how slow and clumsy the PAL version feels. :cry:

Yep, I realised this when I bought Sonic Mega Collection on the Gamecube a number of years back, and now I literally can't go back to the PAL version. I can handle PAL versions of other games on Virtual Console, but it's very much a 'once you experience NTSC you won't want to go back' deal. So ignorance is bliss in many respects.

I've forgotten just how good Final Fantasy VIII is. Unlike VII it pushed the genre forward like no other in that generation of console. The story is epic, the battle system is still the most sophisticated in the genre. And by god it looks gorgeous on my PSP GO. I decided to start again instead of carrying on my file from the PS3 as I love the opening 5 hours so much :wub:

Only problem is, Final Fantasy XIII has a lot to live upto

How?

The story is ruined by the clusterfuck it disintegrates into towards the end, the battle system is FFVII with a few new spells and shiny graphics and the best battle system in the relatively modern FF's is X anyway.

I feel like downloading Project64 and Mario Party 1/2/3, I need a controller first though. I used to have one that I bought from Robert Dyas of all places. Worked well enough but it wasn't really suited for N64 games.
