Eurogamer has a big "we've played it" preview of the game and it sounds good... but it only comments about the setup and action; there is nothing about the actual quality of the game.

If the base PS4 and XBO hold this back in any way, then I'd much prefer it to be next-gen exclusive.

So, it's Noir 2077?

You know, after discussing this with people on here, and doing a bit of reading, I've changed my mind: Blade Runner can definitely be read as cyberpunk. I still think the themes differ from straight-up cyberpunk fiction, but it's certainly in the same realm as those.

Yay, consensus!

CD Project obviously showed them at least half an hour of night time gameplay.

As others have said, I'm imagining a Deus Ex style perspective where it'll switch to 3rd person when using cover, so either crouching or standing up you'll still get a good look at your character.

I also think FPS is the best perspective for dealing with the trans-human aspects of the game, as you'll be viewing the game from the protaginist's viewpoint and will get to use their augmented vision and gooseberry fool like that.

Gonna be the game of forever :datass:

I definitely trust them that FPS is the best way forward. It's just a little different from my expectation and I need to adjust them accordingly!

I've actually started planning the type of character I want to play. Haven't done that since the build up to Skyrim.

Apparently there are hundreds of buildings and thousands of rooms you can enter.

And the games size reaches upward to the skyline, as opposed to the flatlands of Witcher 3.

Your wish for a dense, overpopulated, dystopian video game world crammed with skyscrapers and slums stacked upon one another will come true. 8-)

Read the Eurogamer preview and now I'm pretty hyped. X1X should be best console to play it on too.

Hype for this is real. I hope they can pull it off.

Most likely it'll work like Shenmue 2's Kowloon walled city where the developers created rules for how a room layout should be and then proceduraly generated them.

They state in the Eurogamer piece that they've not used any procedural generation. All hand crafted.

https://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018 ... t-about-it

Does it have that Witcher thing of, if you can see it you can go to it?

Patrick Mills: Yeah. Obviously every game has an end, but yes. I don't want to mislead you into thinking you can go into every building. We want to concentrate on that hand-crafted detail. We're not using procedural generation. But we want to make sure that if you see some place interesting, you can go there and experience it. We don't intend to put up any kind of artificial barriers to prevent you from moving around the city. It's very much like The Witcher.
