Aye, and I thought this was supposed to be the peaceful resolution to this quest line.

Understandable considering how dire the combat are in Witcher games. They’ve already said you can approach missions in various ways.

Well, no. If you bought the spiderbot with your own money then maybe.

You might be able to sneak in, hack things, and steal it from under their noses if you are skilled enough.

I'm gonna say it...not as good as I was expecting.

The city looked amazing, what little we saw, but the combat was very rote, with some added interesting skills (a lot of it reminded me of the Syndicate FPS) but nothing that new.

Most impressive part was the atmosphere and density of the city, that looked even better than I had imagined. Expected the combat to look dull and/or "off" in the way RPGs with shooting usually can, but I actually thought it looked pretty good. It's not Doom, obviously, but there seemed to be potential there.

The only thing that stuck out as odd was the lack of other vehicles on the road.

Looked really good but I feel the games media that saw that footage at E3 massively overhyped it.

I didn't expect the city to look as huge as it did considering the level of detail.

That was pretty much what I expected from the trailers and the write ups. I can see why people are going crazy for it, but it doesn't look like it's for me. It feels very GTA with RPG elements right now. I don't doubt that CDPR will craft a more interesting story than in a GTA game, but equally the attitude of the whole thing feels very much more GTA, than Witcher 3.

I agree, in part.

First, I'm imagining the strength of the impressions from E3 came in part from that demo being played live. That must have added to the impressiveness.

Second, I still think it was overhyped. It's a strawberry floating great demo, but the most exciting part are the bits it doesn't show; the majority of the city, the dialogue trees, the pacifist (actually pacifist) routes. The FPS run and gun didn't do it for me.

Finally; still super excited.

Looks like a blend of GTA/Deus Ex and a slight dash of Fallout, pretty much what I was expecting. Be interesting to see non-combat routes.

I think this is the first time I've been excited for a game in years. It looks like Deus Ex, but better. While they haven't really shown it off, I'm optimistic on the non leathal options. And Jesus Christ, while they could have been really careful to allude to more than there is, that city looks amazing so far.

Damn, when they hit the streets.

Oh gooseberry fool, is that Pondsmith voicing Dex?

I don't think so. They're both deep voiced but it doesn't really sound like him.

Watched it again. Noted the fact that there are zero cars on the highway before the scripted encounter. WIP I guess. Also, suuuuuuuper nitpicky whine below:

CDPR have mentioned a bunch of times how they went first person to immerse you in the city, and in the role of V. Why then were there diagetic elements of the UI (V's 'call incoming' screen, her health counter etc) present during third person cutscenes? Why were so many cutscenes in third person anyway? And if you're going to go down that route, why not have conversations in third person? Gives you so many more options when it comes to framing. At the moment it seems a bit of a mess on that front, but I trust them to nail it down.

I liked the third person cut scenes, the first person cut scenes were restricted to those where you have dialog input.
