I wonder if component prices will be back in the realms of reasonable by the time this is finally out. My laptop currently only runs The Witcher 3 at 1080p on medium with most of the post processing off, and I've been putting off building a new tower for ages because of cost.

strawberry float me a new 1080 Ti is almost a grand. That's insane.

Apart from that, that's a possible upgrade for me in the future. Is the 1151 socket the most recent still, or is there an updated intel socket these days?

EDIT: Nope, turns out the 8th gen Intel's aren't compatible with my Z170a motherboard. Booo. Upgrade price from mine to those specs, without the 1080 = €981. With the 1080 = €1981.

Jeez.

Mine matches the amount of RAM at least.

The i5 and 1060GTX might meet minimum spec.

Ha! Who the strawberry float writes that kind of gooseberry fool?

Also, the very specs mentioned above have people speculating that the current gen version shouldn't be too dumbed down:

https://www.forbes.com/sites/kevinmurna ... efb6486885

On reflection, the demo was probably running at 60fps at 4k, so if it can do so on those (high end but not industry-grade) specs that's a very positive thing indeed.

CPU: Intel i7-8700K @ 3.70Ghz €380
MB: Asus ROG Strix Z370-I Gaming €235
RAM: G.SKILL Ripjaws V, 2X16GB, 3000Mhz, CL15 €300
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX1080Ti €969
SSD: Samsung 960 PRO 512GB M.2 PCIe €216
PSU: Corsair SF600 600W €119.90

€2219

If you're desperate.

EDIT: Audio only, the video title cuts out before it says that, don't want to get people's hopes up that there's actual footage.

The demo was apparently running in native 4K so my GTX1070 will probably do a decent job at 2560x1440, not to mention the final build will probably me a great deal more optimised. Nice to know I won't have to break the bank on upgrades.

The 1080 Ti isn't even a new card by PC standards is it?
The miners must be really buying cards by the van full. Surely the insane prices must make designing games for the ultra max systems (as Crysis did back in the day) pretty pointless as hardly anyone has hardcore pc gaming systems any more.

This game will likely suffer from the usual problems for games at the end of generations where the PC version will obviously be better for obvious reasons. I'll play this on One X and the PC version may indeed be superior but the X version will do me just fine.

It's not new, but it's still the most powerful consumer GFX card out there. NVidia are prepping the release of their 11xx cards however, so by the time the game drops the 1080Ti should be far more affordable. And, as people have mentioned, the demo was aiming for 4K native. My 1070 should hopefully do just fine at 1440p.

EDIT: Also, for anyone with a hankering for some Cyberpunk action, all the Deus Ex games are discounted in the Steam sale: The original for 69p (a must buy), Human Revolution for £2 (definitely at that price) and Mankind Divided for around £3 (eeeeerrrrhhh maybe).

MD is definitely worth £3, come on

Yeah, you're right. The hub world is lovely, and the whole this is as well designed as HR but it's not that satisfying a game. Just as it gets going it...ends. I was really disappointed by it, but it's probably a disappointment that's worth £3!

I expect them to re-release this game on xboxtwo/ps5, which will probably be level with the original PC version. At least, I hope they do. I will be playing on PC but I hope everyone gets the chance to experience it at its best rather than just on consoles at the end of their lifespan.

:(

There's no way they're going to release a DE game to go up against Cyberpunk, so you may be right...
