That was a tough fight first time around. Keeping the first one up top til he's dead definitely helps with the rest of the fight.

PLATINUM GET. Since this is the second time around, I'm definitely done with the game now.

Jesus, well done getting the platinum!

Yeah the end of the fight, float me. The moment where I go for the killing blow, miss and then auto press heal but can't cancel the animation, strawberry floating hell.

I think that you need to get into the habit of attacking or healing only after you've dodged the enemy's attacks. A lot of hits in that video could have been avoided if you were a little more patient.

Bloodborne is to blame for that, I'm so used to just popping a heal in the heat of a fight.

I don't think that I ever did that in Bloodborne either.

PostRe: Dark Souls 2: Scholar of the First Sin (Xbox/PS/PC) - 33-40% off this week on Live

After what feels like ages of no progress at all on this, plus my hearts not been in for a punishing game recently, I finally had a good session on this earlier. Beat the red dragon in the first area, best the reskinned Artorias boss after that, beat the chariot boss and now I'm at another fog gate. Feels good.

Beat the skelly boss where you fight the 3 thrones guys and about 30 smaller ones first go earlier :datass:

Lowered a bridge and I'm at a place with a huuuge tower and windmills, looks fantastic and the first area to have the feel of the first game to me so far.

Is this thing on?

Making good progress, just did the windmill level with the medusa type boss and the big slug thing and now I'm on the the iron keep. Had a few invasions but luckily I had another player with me at the time. I'd started summoning a player when I got invaded again, so we both bowed to each other and when the fight started the other player on my side got pulled in... I'd have loved to have heard their reaction

Reached a big fiery knight and got killed so I called it a night.

If you take a different route before hitting the Iron Keep you can acquire a shield that will make the fight against that guy a lot easier.

Nah, a different area entirely. Should have worded that better. It's another of the routes leading from Majula.

Ah ok. I've been along most other routes bar the big well by the houses so far.

The guy sat down before a doorway? I've been through there to a forest of some sort, found a few routed in there but there was some foggy bit and a door that said I needed powerful souls.

Yeah, that's where I mean. Pass through the foggy area then through the subsequent area and you find yourself where I'm talking about. Sorry if I'm being vague but I'm trying to avoid spoilers.

Went to the foggy bit tonight and remembered why I only tried it once - getting turned around and lost. This time I kept a wall to my right at all times and ended up at another bonfire in a fog less area with some ruins. Fell down a hole, felt such a twat for falling for it and then had those curse frog banana splits push me around in orange water breaking my stuff. Still, I beat the scorpion woman boss first go and called it a night there. When I went back to majula I noticed a guy by the well and gave him loads of souls to put a ladder down, which I descended and then got blown up 3 times.

Finally seem to have "broken thorough" with Scholar now. Just finished the first boss (It was stupidly easy) and I'm looking forward to moving onward. It's definitely not as good as DS1 though.

So far I have to say I agree with the complaints people have with it. Drangleic just isn't as interesting, you get ganged up on far too easily and the hub and spokes layout of the world is a far cry from the twisted, interconnected beauty of Lordran.

It's still great though.

Good progress again today. Beat the persuer, ruin sentinels, the rotten, belfry gargoyles and the first boss in the iron keep.
