The summon did next to nothing for me, in the end I found it 'easier' to solo it. Was hard as strawberry float but euphoric when I did it.

Yea, well if anyone is around level 89 in dark souls on PC and wants to try and help me out, we can beat him together!

That would be great ha! when I have a free evening, which isn't like late late, but more reasonable, probably weekend. I'll send you a message!

So, the Smelter Demon is an arsehole then.

Get the 100% fire blocking shield from the Gyrm Warriors north of Doors of Pharros (or whatever it's called) it negates a lot of his attacks.

I managed it eventually, while I was looking for some videos for tips someone mentioned it was possible to bring one of the DLC summons back to help out with the fight. Made it a lot easier.

A few of the bosses are made easier in this if you have the red eye ring which keeps an enemy's attention on you. You can then have an NPC summon pretty much kill the boss for you while you just tank it. Some say it doesn't work all the time but I used that strategy for several bosses while going for the NPC trophies most notably the Smelter Demon and had Lucatiel do all the work while I blocked everything.

Ok, I need help now. The Fume Knight is impossible. It's an absolute barrel of bullshit. I can just about make it to the second phase and then he puts that fire on his sword and I cant get anywhere near him. Not to mention he kills me when his sword is NOWHERE strawberry floating NEAR ME. Feel like doing a chalky right now.

I need to get back into this. I'm about 10 hours in but haven't played for a few months as I jumped into it immediately after finishing Dark Souls.

Finally beat Fume Knight on what felt like my 50th or 60th attempt. Actual screaming at the screen.

Played a little bit tonight and I'm so out of practice that I was getting my ass handed to me left, right and centre. Found No Man's Wharf though and started to get back into the swing of it. Seems like a pretty cool area to explore. Those long limbed creatures are freaky though.

I really enjoyed the Flexile Sentry fight this morning. At first I was thinking "oh yeah, this will be easy if I don't rush" and then I noticed I was starting to move slower and slower until I realised the water was rising.

Beat it on my third attempt but it was a fun way of adding a little time pressure to what would have otherwise been a pretty simple fight.

In Lost Bastille now. If I remember right, the last time I was here I found a large room full of several boss creatures but I'm quite a bit more levelled up now so I feel braver.

Ruin Sentinels were an awesome boss fight. Easy one on one but fighting two at once was so nail bitingly brilliant. I died a lot but every time, I knew I could do it if I just had one more go. Eventually did it and leveled up a good chunk. I'm so back into this now, got the bug again. Can't wait for the board game next month.

Had a real Dark Souls moment with this game last night. I've been failing at the Sir Alonne boss battle for a while, the Memory Of The Iron King area is completely vacant of enemies since I've killed them so many times. I bring the two summons with me for one last attempt, as I'm out of humanity and can't be bothered trekking around to find more. Anyway, those two guys did pretty good, and the last one perishes with the boss at probably around the 20% health mark.

Anyway, so I'm rubbish at Sir Alonne. Supposedly my tank build is pretty good for this fight, but he's way too fast for my liking. If I block all his swipes and then counter it leaves me with no stamina. I can't get the rhythm down for dodging the attacks. And that strawberry floating move where he stabs you gets me every time, no matter where I try to dodge it. I'm basically left hoping for him to just do that jumping move, which is easy to block and doesn't rape my stamina bar too badly.

So this is going fine, and he's down to his last tiny fraction of health. But wait, it's that banana spliting stab move again! I'm also down to a tiny sliver of health. I stand back up and think, strawberry float it I'll bash him while he recovers and I'll win. Turns out he has a shade more health than I think, and survives my bash! He raises his sword and I go for the yolo follow up. My hammer comes swinging back at the same time his sword approaches my head. I swear, if this is Street Fighter it's a double KO. But mine hits first, we're talking hundredths of seconds here, and the boss is defeated. VICTORY ACHIEVED proudly displayed on screen. Heart racing, blood pumping, I shake my fist at the screen and yell a most creative obscenity. And then I'm done for the night.

This. strawberry floating. Game.

It certainly was, made even sweeter because I had two similar close encounters during my battles with the Fume Knight, only he came out on top both times then. Not sure I could have taken it if Alonne had gotten the better of me that time!

Did you ever get far with this game jawa? I seem to remember you starting it up a few pages back.
