My biggest worry is the ZWEIHANDER being nerfed into the ground.

Zweihander for strawberry floating life. I used that for about 2 3rds of the game.

It does say bandai namco / from software but Bandai could afford to outsource to anyone really. Hopefully From handle it themselves as a money spinner whilst working on their new original IP.

I do own the PC version so that's not a bad gesture, considering how expensive Switch games tend to be. Hopefully Nintendo oversea it a bit and it turns out to be a Doom-like port, although that engine is far more advanced.

I don't imagine it will be cut back too heavily, maybe things like depth of field will take a hit and the ambient occlusion (that DSfix reduces because it just looks OTT as standard if I remember correctly, or some soft shadow thing similar to AO).

Oh yeah, but you could change the values, because it was kind of funny. Guess I forget what makes that game gold on PC - it was a blurry mess on first install.

In that sense, it really doens't need a remaster on PC. Just save the gimped PS3/360 versions.

The UI fix was sometimes pretty buggy though, it flickers about quite often between the low and hi res / downscaled assets.

Never played any Souls game so this on Switch sounds like a winner to me.

Sseems the remaster will be running in DS3's engine.

The remake runs at 1080p on the PS4 and Xbox One with 60 FPS.
This is a REMAKE of the game using Dark Souls 3’s engine. Expect Combat differences.
Native 4k resolution on PC
Remaster renders upscaled 4K on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One while the PC version will feature resolution upto native 4K.
The remaster will feature up to 6 player online, like Dark Souls 3.
The multiplayer now has dedicated game servers rather than p2p
The remaster includes the DLC Artorias of the Abyss

Remade in DS3's engine?!

In.

Not very. They've since taken back what was said as regards DS3 engine.

Genuinely envious of anyone playing this for the first time. I only played Dark Souls fairly recently, and it's now one of my favourite games of all time. Hope they port the second game to Switch too, that's also great.

But keep Blight town as an unoptimised mess, please. It's part of the experience.

Are we anticipating £40 on all platforms for physical releases? I know $40 was mentioned...

I liked the idea of the area but it was just totally unfinished. A shorter run to the boss would have been nice, as would a boss which wasn't utter bullshit.

I don't think sorting the frame rate out would harm the experience personally.

Had a random thought earlier about the switch version - how cool would it be to be able to invade people locally? So say you're in an airport playing and you get a 'local player has invaded' and you know it's someone near you in the room. You defeat or get defeated by the phantom and you can go and call them a tosser to their face.

It would be an easy place to SWAT somebody and video the result.

Great idea, however most switch players won’t even get dark souls - its not mainstream enough. I’m still undecided about whether i want to play this anywhere, anytime or in 4k 60fps!

Still undecided about going down the Switch or PS4 route for this. It would be kinda cool to play in portable mode but I have the other Soulsborne titles on PS so I may stick with that. Got a while to decide, anyway... I wonder when we'll see some actual gameplay footage?

I personally would love the ability to play Dark Souls whilst having a poo.
