Isn't that what you'd expect for a remaster as opposed to a remake?

Apparently the Steam version unlocked early and is playable now.

Watch out for Malcolm in PC version, this is what he does to you permanently -

Hits you with a homing spell that inflates your stats, curses you, adds the egg and all sorts of gooseberry fool. Game detects this on your save and only allows that save to matchmake with other edited saves, therefore softbanning you from matching up with other players on the norm. He effectively ruins your save. Either you revert to a back-up or you start a new character.

It's exactly the same as the original version but what seems like (so far) a very stable 60fps. There's some stuff they've added from DS3 like the ability to quickly select your Estus flask by holding down the button, a higher player count in multiplayer and changing covenants at the bonfires. I forgot how slow the game feels compared to Bloodborne and DS3.

It's had to take a bit of a break! The environments were sensational, I enjoyed the gameplay and I was getting my head around the "dying is a part of the game" way of thinking... but Cleric Beast was - for me - a bit too frustrating.

Once Zelda BOTW is out of the way, I could return to it, though :-).

Top work, Mafro - facing up to Quelaag was a huge, spectacular battle!

I enjoyed watching the stream and I could tell that you know the game really well; twisty, dark paths were traveled through at speed :-). As ever when there are a few people watching, the text chat was cool, too - it was great to get views on the Souls games from Karl and Jazzem.
