PostDark Souls Remastered (Switch, PS4, XB1, PC)

Apparently Dark Souls Remastered is being announced today http://www.kotaku.co.uk/2018/01/11/report-dark-souls-1-remastered-for-switch-ps4-xbox-one-and-pc-being-announced-today

I’ve seen a leak of the release date floating around on Twitter too.

I suppose I should show where I first heard about this...

In a weird way, Dark Souls is the game I least want remastered, even tho its my favourite Souls game. I just think pretty much everything about Dark is perfect, and still holds up excellently today. I have so many memories and so many hundreds of hours all tied to that game, and those graphics, I just cant picture it looking any different. I guess for console owners its different as they were stuck with 720p 30fps versions, but to me I dunno, its like painting bigger tits on the mona lisa or something.

I’m definitely up for playing this again on PS4. I just hope I get lucky and bag a Black Knight Sword early this time round.

Been really enjoying Bloodborne so I'm glad this has come about, would've had to try and get my PS3 fixed to play it otherwise. Hopefully 2 follows along at some point, maybe they'll end up doing a trilogy bundle.

Dark Souls 2 has already had a remaster. Well, kind of.

If nothing else, it'll be nice to have a possibly more optimised version on PC as well as the chance for 60fps or portable play with consoles.

I do understand the fears though, I know many fans didn't like the visual changes made to 2 in Scholar of the First Sin. Will be interesting to see how much the original look is preserved.

EDIT: \/ Oh wow if it's an outright remake with the DS3 engine, yeah may have a fair few changes both visually and gameplay wise

No idea how reliable the source is, but...

Soruce is Vaati and Fextralife.

https://fextralife.com/dark-souls-remas ... 25th-2018/

Sseems the remaster will be running in DS3's engine.

The remake runs at 1080p on the PS4 and Xbox One with 60 FPS.
This is a REMAKE of the game using Dark Souls 3’s engine. Expect Combat differences.
Native 4k resolution on PC
Remaster renders upscaled 4K on the PS4 Pro and Xbox One while the PC version will feature resolution upto native 4K.
The remaster will feature up to 6 player online, like Dark Souls 3.
The multiplayer now has dedicated game servers rather than p2p
The remaster includes the DLC Artorias of the Abyss

Remade in DS3's engine?!

In.

Great news for me as I got up to Smough and Ornstein and gave up many years back! I also have the DLC to complete, so this comes at a great time - the only dilemma is if I want to play it on PS4 or on the move on Nintendo Switch! First World problems....

It’s better than 3.

Might get this on switch if it runs ok.
