Haha yeah for real, I'm really bad at Dex combat.

I never really enjoyed dex combat. Only really went down that path when I wanted to use Quelaag's Fury Sword.

I played it completely wrong on my first play through. For example I had no idea about equipment load so I was wearing havel armour and sporting all the heaviest stuff thinking the high armour rating was king, plus only using heavy zweihander attacks. Imagine that, I somehow fat rolled, hid behind a gooseberry fool shield having my stamina drained and slow heavy attacked most of my game until I hit Queelag and I think someone on here explained how it all worked :fp:

To think now I play these games two handing in rags :datass:

Bought this and loving it in 4k and 60fps on the ps4 pro. This is ridiculous, but i didn’t know how to summon help online when i played it the first time and gave up on smough and Ornstein! Someone helped me get the drake sword the other day - what a star!

How do we get more humanity? I lost a bunch and need some more to summon online help!

You can buy a limited supply fro some merchants and you also get it by being summoned and defeating a boss. The rats in the depth strip it but the drop rate is pretty gooseberry fool.

Thanks, apparently theres a ring to increase the drop rates? I haven’t found any merchants that sell it mind you i have only just beaten the gargoyles (with online help!).

Got this last night and it looks pretty swish on my X. Apart from the rock solid frame rate I must say the biggest difference is the fidelity. Enemies now look extremely detailed. I'm really happy with it so far.

Some textures look pretty bad, but overall it looks decent and 60fps is just amazing!

Are any of you guys playing the game for the first time? I'm interested to hear if you're enjoying it as a newcomer.

Yeah you can find that ring in Sen's Fortress. Can't remember which merchants sell humanity, might be the old hollow woman in the shortcut between Lower UNdead Burg that goes back to Firelink through the viaduct.

Are there any big changes from the original? I've seen loads of people complaining about the remaster on youtube.

The increase from 30fps to 60fps is huge if you didn't play the PC version before, and you can co-op with up to three people now instead of just two. Other than that most of the changes are little quality-of-life things like being able to quickly select the first item in your inventory slot (Dark Souls 3 did this and it helps a lot), changing covenants at bonfires and they've added an extra bonfire in the Catacombs at the blacksmith.

Can you warp between bonfires now?

I think you can only do this after a certain point (Smough and Ornstein).

Yeah you need the Lordvessel to warp.

Finally killed the capra demon after 10 tries and was hollow and couldn’t summon anyone! On to the depths and beyond. I am loving how clever this game is with shortcuts and it feels one step ahead of ds3, although the latter has slightly better controls. Currently a knight, but the faster rolling in the thiefs outfit is appealing.

I do wish this game was remastered properly, however memories of the blurry ps3 version and bad framerate quickly make me appreciate this version. 60fps really does make a big difference to a game like this.

Kill Havel to get his ring and that'll decrease your equip burden and you'll be able to roll faster with heavier gear.

Cheers. Manages to complete blighttown, but need to upgrade my estus flask which is proving a little difficult. Things seem to change once i ring the second bell and it appears i should have killed someone! This game really is quite addictive and i reckon i can finally see the ending, but want to complete all of the side quests too as theres a lot of them.

If you've got a fire keeper's soul on you then you can upgrade the flask at the Daughter of Chaos after beating Quelaag.
