Yeah luck of draw which server your picking as they could be on any. Got kicked while running along the coast to Elektro, log on to another server and within 2 seconds of joining some foreigner is behind me asking me to stop before opening fire on me. He missed and I quit :shifty:

So the new DayZ update puts your player in some sort of combat stance if he's attacked/fired up on which stops you Alt F4'ing out or aborting out. Could be a huge problem where hackers (Especially teleporting hackers!) are concerned :| I'll keep mine on the previous DayZ file for now.

Yeah that is a problem.

Back when it was first released I would have welcomed that update as there was so many cheap people who would alt f4 just before they died in a legit battle. strawberry floating annoying as hell.

But now with all the hacking, alt f4 has become the only defence a legit player has. :lol: :fp:

You played DayZ? Actually put some time into it? No problems with someone killing me legit but when someone teleports around the map with every players location and offing everyone with an AS50 then I'll happily use the abort option.

OK so quitting out doesn't kill you in the latest patch (But will in the standalone) but it does log anyone who uses Alt F4.

ok so the combat system has a few of you worried let me try and clear it up

First zeds will not put you in combat unless you attack them.
Second the killed system is not in this release and we are talking about just sending global msgs to everyone when someone logs while in combat in place of killing.

everything else is in you just wont be killed yet -).


Current updated Change log this is our final change log for this build.

Client Side:
* [NEW] Tents can no longer be placed on concrete.
* [FIXED] Building checks for tent placement (No longer place tents in buildings).
* [FIXED] Tents now are one click place.
* [FIXED] Fixed function for checking if in buildings.
* [UPDATED] Vehicle repair menus now all replaced.
* [NEW] Vehicle menus now list all damaged parts no matter if you have the item or not.
* [NEW] Vehicle repair menus will now let you know the exact item you need to repair on failed repair attempts.
* [FIXED] Vehicle Damage is now fully working.
* [FIXED] Vehicle Killed is now in effect fully destroyed vehicles will now set correct in db.
* [FIXED] Tents Now add and remove from db.
* [FIXED] Food can no longer be consumed if the player does not have in inventory.

* [NEW] New Combat System If you fire a weapon, then you go into combat. During combat, "ABORT" is disabled. (Need to look at the effects with high player counts)
* [NEW] Combat 30 sec timer on all combat actions.

* [FIXED] Zombie death animation is delayed (now it plays instantly)

Server.pbo:
* [NEW] HiveEXT.dll now replaced with our new version.
* [NEW] Official Hive login is now hard coded into the .dll
* [NEW] New Hive can now set ingame time to custom, local(local server time), static

* [FIXED] Object Gear syncs happen based on radius not just on menu.

Gave the new update a try, logged in inside a house in Elektro, impossible for anyone to know I was there (Night time server plus I didn't do anything for a while as I was trying to decide where to go to next) and there was 4 people including myself on the server. Decide to grab some food from the supermarket and the second I step outside someone's firing on me with either the M14 or DMR but not from the sniper hill. The shots missed and hit the ground next to me but didn't stick me in combat mode. Could of quit out then but figured he was a terribly gooseberry fool shot so ran on to the shop next to the supermarket and quit out while in a room.

Also attacking Z's sticks you in combat mode. Better tell the guy I've been playing with lately as he's a little too trigger happy :slol:

I've only just realised that I'm permanently a strawberry floating bandit. Been murdered twice during the last week and since being murdered haven't killed anyone yet my skin won't change at all :x

Also me and my mate were on a server last night, spent near 2 hours around Stary and the NW Airfield (Even found a nice L82 rifle with a thermal/NV scope) lose my connection and when I log back in I'm back at Stary minus everything I'd collected as if those 2 hours didn't exist :fp: we found out (After I shot and broke my mates legs then blew him up in the parked car in Stary near the tents) that the server saves no progress and you could die and start back where you'd logged off on whatever server you'd played on before joining the one we were on. Ground Hog DayZ :slol:

Bloody hackers. I seem cursed when getting the Ghillie suit. Grabbing some food and drink from Cherno's supermarket with my mate, start hearing this weird noise and ask if he could hear it too. He says "Yeah sounds like a damn mini gun" next moment the supermarket collapses instantly killing us both. After spawning in Kamenka start making my way along the coast only to notice this guy standing there in the distance who starts firing this 'mini gun' and kills me instantly again.

He then teleports everyone in the game to Balota's airstrip and starts murdering everyone. I managed to avoid that while waiting to spawn again, spawn back in Kamenka ran all the way to Cherno and could see my body on top of the rubble at the now destroyed supermarket loot my own corpse of everything (Bar the damn Ghillie suit, there's no way to remove that from a body right?) and quickly quit out.

strawberry floating hackers again. I swear I'd take a blade to their fingers if they ever came round my gaff. Was having a wonderful time flying around in a chopper I found, even got chased by another chopper with a gunner who I managed to lose then I see everyone on the server starts to die one after the other and then some banana split hacker kills me. And then everyone spawns unconscious bleeding out with broken bones :x
