I enjoyed this - echo Mori's sentiments really. Solid 7.5 out of 10 for me. Doesn't trouble the best and the editing lets it down in a lot of places, but it's really fun. Will Smith and Joel Kinnaman play off each other really well. Margot Robbie is great when she gets her accent right. Viola Davis nails Amanda Waller. Liked Leto's Joker, probably the worst of the three but I really like the gangster aesthetic to his character.
Very good! Unlike the movie. Just back from seeing this and what a strawberry floating disaster! Awful editing, 90% unfunny jokes, nonsensical scenes due to gooseberry fool editing, different songs that change every 3 minutes, woeful action, pacing and characterisation. I'm officially done with superhero movies. gooseberry fool.

Wait. Just wait. They will probably release it on on DVD/Blu-Ray/rental with extra scenes that will, hopefully, be better edited than the gooseberry fool fest that is in cinemas right now.
So me and my partner saw this earlier, It is a bad film, I think it'll be even worse for us if we were more invested in the DC universe, but meh, it's been a bit meh for some time now!
Is it just me or is there no original music in this? Like a score? Every couple of minutes there was a different licensed song which ruins the tempo. Some alright moments, but there was no real flow, characters being introduced in the opening thirty minutes then more randomly appear and get a 10 second into, there seemed to be no real connection with any of them.
The only real positive, Damn Harley Quinn is Hawt!!!
The first 45 minutes is just one long trailer sequence. Who edited this together? Whoever it was they're an absolute hack or a team of hacks. You could actually take out that whole build up and background section of the film, make no other changes, and it would be better for it. Every single joke was absolutely appalling and Margo Robbie delivered her constant string of one lines like a strawberry floating baseball bat to the head with the end result being appropriately stunned disbelief at what you've just been subjected to.
Once all that gooseberry fool was out of the way and the actual mission got underway things only got worse. Will Smith hogged the entire film, barring Robbie's car crash of a performance, and he was utterly horrible. His constant need to be front and centre distracted from anything else in the film and his commentary track to the entire film didn't give anything else a chance to develop and resulted in his character being thoroughly unlikeable and the whole film be entirely one dimensional. Jared Leto's Joker was appalling as well, if this is what he produces through his ludicrous method acting wankery it should be the end of his career, why anyone would hire him after this is beyond me. The central characters were all exactly what I feared from the trailers a bunch of wacky misfit anti heroes designed by a bunch of 50 year old executives. I have no affinity to any of these characters and have never read any of the comics so maybe it's just not for me, but I seem to get along with most of the Marvel stuff fine.
Killer Croc, Diablo and Captain Boomerang were the best things about the film but they were utterly drowned out by everyone else. The scene in the bar near the end was this all over, Diablo's character development was destroyed by Robbie's toe curlingly bad delivery of the 'own it' line. And not content with ruining his moment she also shat all over any chance Croc had at comedy. Deadshot facing off against Flag here was terrible. The one good bit of comedy in the entire film was Boomerang running off as soon as Flag smashed the phone but they strawberry floating ruined it by bringing him back because.....err why.
The story, plot and villain were terrible as was the resolution to it all. So this brother Super Villain who can clear out an entire city and destroy hoardes of Army men can be killed by a small explosion underneath him, sure right. And the Enchantress kicking arse and doing whatever she liked for the entire film was caught out because the film had to end despite the fact she clearly had the powers to avoid getting killed. The stupid slow mo ending was like some cheesy bollocks from an early 90s Arnie turd. And the crap going on all around the world while this was happening, dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb.
This was utterly brainless film making, terrible performances of woefully written characters in a story out of a power rangers episode.
Own it was the worst delivered line and worst bit of the film. When you stop and think about the characters and the portrayal it's actually pretty offensive.
Guardians of the galaxy had a cast if misfits, this has serial murders and child killers and rather than actually address it, it's all fun and games until they pause, look sad then crack on killing.
The last fight was very 90s, some of the cgi in it was terrible.
It'll be interesting to see how the original cut changes things. It would be a much more interesting film with more joker, less music and more threat.
Did love the comedy suits the guys with guns wore though. Panda suit was epic.

I liked the set up even though it was a bit over the place.
The 2nd half was just a bit dull though. Though I have been bored of low stakes superhero fight scenes for a while now.
I thought the cast was pretty good except for Cara Delevingne, though it might just be that her somewhat interesting character was just written very poorly.
