Saw this and thought it was a nice sign of the evolution/change in tone of the film

Judging by Angry Joe's tweets he enjoyed the film.

I'm going to see this tonight, however from the reception it seems like an inverse Ghostbusters; great trailers hiding a mediocre film?

I've peddled that line here, in the review, on Twitter and on Facebook 8-)

This is one of those films where the price of cinema tickets actively puts me off going, given the reviews. For £6-£7, I would give it a punt.

It's his mate's vomit-inducing beard that puts me off. :dread:

This is why I love having a Vue cinema in Cardiff that charges £4. Think I'm gonna take a punt on it tomorrow.

I could probably get a train to Cardiff and pay to watch it at that cinema for less than the one in Bristol's Cabot Circus is charging.

Get yourself to the Maxine at Blackwood mate...£2.50 a pop and no extra for 3D movies either. :)

edit: used to go the one at Nantgarw but not been there for about 18 months now. Last time I went was getting on for £9 a ticket.

I've just looked at the website, how on earth do they afford to do their tickets so cheaply, isn't there a minimum price for new films set by the film distributors? I spoke to a manager at cineworld and he said that they only make 80p for each ticket sold and that on tickets that are sold at £9 ish.

I have no idea. They do have a sign in there saying that they would 'appreciate' it if you bought cinema refreshments, popcorn and sweets etc from them as this helps them to subsidise the tickets...to be honest even the prices of that stuff is cheaper than the bigger chains. IIRC they do actually charge £3.50 at weekends but that is still obviously far cheaper than the alternatives.

Just got back from seeing this, and it absolutely is an inverse ghostbusters. Great trailers hide a mediocre film, however there are some good performances among the jerky camera, constant nighttime and scenes in the trailer which were absent from the film. I understand this was a real hatchet job editing wise so hopefully a good cut exists somewhere.
