There was a rumour bobbing around when production on the Batman-Superman film was pushed back that this new scheduling would see production roll on right out of that movie and into Justice League. That rumour has come back again today.
And, actually, it’s more than a rumour if we’re to believe Borys Kit of The Hollywood Reporter. He’s calling the plan ‘confirmed.’
Hopefully this means that the Justice League screenplay is already in good shape. If it isn’t, then I don’t know what kind of attention Zack Snyder will be able to give it, nor the film’s inevitably expansive pre-production needs, once he’s already shooting the Batman-Superman film.
I guess it’s also worth noting that Snyder’s comments on having a Wonder Woman costume and having seen it alongside the Batman and Superman suits might actually be referring to a Justice League design and we’ll not see Diana in “the kit” in the first film at all.
All of this has just left me hoping that Batman-Superman resolves. I’d be really quite frustrated if it just stops, and with only about a year between release dates, I do wonder if Warner Bros. might be tempted to go for such a cliff hanger.
Hmm, this is actually shaping up a lot better now. The Rock as Black Adam is a pretty cool prospect. I think I'd have preferred a wrestler swap between Marvel and DC though - Batista as Black Adam and Rock as Drax the Destroyer.
Though if they're going to make a movie out of the Johns and Frank run where Adam mostly gets mad and hits stuff it could work. I loved that run but the simplistic portrayal of Adam did annoy me.
Here’s what she says her sources tell her of the tentative release schedule WB/DC have in mind, some of which will be revealed to the public next month:
May 2016 – Batman v Superman July 2016 – Shazam Xmas 2016 – Sandman May 2017 – Justice League July 2017 – Wonder Woman Xmas 2017 – Flash and Green Lantern team-up May 2018 – Man Of Steel 2
