I mean they're doing a Nightwing movie. Batman's easy to recast, just replace him with Dick Grayson.

Latest Justice League trailer looks okay, they certainly seem to be throwing everything at it. Still find myself struggling to get too excited by it though, it all seems a bit too try hard and grimdark for my liking.

Also the whole general pedestaling of Superman - "the world is in mourning for Superman", "He showed them how to be the best they than can be" etc. doesn't really ring true after they've just spent 2 movies telling us that Superman is actually a bit of a dick and people don't really like him.

I actually quite enjoyed Justice League :shifty:
Yeah it's not been as good as either Avengers or Civil War, but it was perfectly enjoyable I thought.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it.

This is like CGI-ing Wesley Snipes' eyes in Blade 3, except for a whole goddamn film and not just one shot.

Really now?

It was by far the most generic, boring, average, predicable super hero film I've seen in a long time.

It was by no means bad. But it felt like they were trying to make avengers on 1/4 of the budget, and with less talented writing staff.

I laughed at how gooseberry fool batman is, he constantly has to be saved by everyone else

And the villian "I must conquer and destroy, I'm also a giant space orc" just terrible.

Justice League's opening weekend in the US was lower than Thor Ragnarok's opening weekend

$96M vs $122.7M

A few more comparisons: the first Avengers movie did $207.4M in its opening weekend in the US, Age of Ultron did $191.2M, and Batman vs Superman did $166M.

Warner Bros. will surely be disappointed...

I've seen it stated that it needs to make $750m worldwide for it to break even and it's currently being projected to fall short.

It's hard to believe that the strawberry floating Justice League could fail so spectacularly in the US.

Oh dear, that's less than Wonder Woman which managed $103M as well.

Looking over the figures that is a lower opening than 9(!) of the MCU movies, including the original Iron Man from way back in 2008!

EDIT: Looks like the "international" figures weren't too bad for it at an extra $185.5M - I expect it will need to do very well globally as it looks like the domestic market just is not going for the DCEU.

The costumes look fine in the film, even Flash who didn't look convincing in the promotional material. Superman's in particular was a vast improvement.

Just watched this. Enjoyed it overall even if it was a bit gooseberry fool in places. Can't really get on with space trolls/orcs as enemies though, they're overpowered one second and weak the next.
Is Superman a lot more powerful now, or was he just not trying against Doomsday?
Aquaman's pointless.

Doomsday was a modified Kryptonian so he and Superman should be evenly matched.

Watched Justice League earlier because my girlfriend wanted to go see it for Wonder Woman.

It’s.... not great. I don’t get why DC don’t seem to listen to any of their criticisms about being too grimdark and CGI-heavy. It’s like they went too big with the villains in Man of Steel and then for every subsequent film they’ve had to go for something equally ridiculous. Every film just ends against some super-powered CGI goblin who wants to destroy the world.

Flash was okay. Wonder Woman was good. I’m not sure that I’m-too-old-for-this-shit Batman is any good now, either. Even smug Superman was more fun than him for the few minutes he was actually in it.

EDIT: also, the opening bit in London - Has Wonder Woman got super speed too?She was moving like the Flash defending the hostages :dread:

She's got super speed but not at Flash levels. The speed force is just broken though.

Ahhh, gotcha. Thought it was a bit dodgy! Also, did any of the bits in Batman v Superman actually relate to Justice League, or were they setting up stuff even further into the future?

Or did they have a different plan for Justice League that didn’t quite work out?
