It all seems to me, admittedly as someone who is far more familiar with Marvel than DC, that Warner Bros just seem to be throwing loads of stuff out there in the hope that some of it sticks.
Batman/Superman aside I'm not interested in any of the stuff they're working on. Justice League and Suicide Squad, in my mind anyway, are going to be awful. JL because they've not done any proper introductions for any of the characters and I just feel like I'm going to have absolutely no attachment to any of them. SS because I absolutely despise Jared Leto and the thought of him playing Joker makes me ill. Not to mention the stuff above about Hardy quitting and Leto and Smith being given bigger parts.
Movie wise the only ground work they've laid is Man Of Steel, which obviously got a mixed reception (Though I did enjoy it). Their TV shows, which as pointed out are currently completely separate from the movies, have been average at best. What I've seen of Arrow and Flash I thought was shite and Gotham was ok last time I watched it (Penguin is carrying that show).
They're trying to introduce too many characters and teams, too quickly, without putting in the world building that made the MCU the money making engine it is today.
I guess you can't blame them though. They want their share of the super-powered pie before people get fed up with it, but I'm afraid they're just going to churn out a series of average at best movies. Which will be the quickest way to put people off said pie.
I hope I'm wrong, as I love comic book movies. But right now I've got very little confidence that WB/DC can pull it off.
The biggest issue is that they seem far too eager to compromise on their characters and show zero understanding of what makes the comic books work. Anyone who reads Green Lantern could have told you that using Parallax in the first of the planned Green Lantern movies was strawberry floating moronic beyond belief but they went and did it anyway and strawberry floated up any potential that franchise had. Then there's Man of Steel which just continues DCs/Warners recent run of completely missing the point of Superman. If you read the second book of Loebs run on Superman/Batman there's a monologue that perfectly sums up the character. The most important aspect of Superman isn't that he is an alien with ridiculous powers, it's his earth parents and the influence they had on him. He doesn't need to have shades of grey. He is just meant to be the good guy, that's all. It's a mistake they replicated on the comic book side in the New 52 when they let Morrison kill off Clarks parents in a single panel of the culmination of his Superman vs The Evil Space Fairy run on the rebooted Action Comics. The stupid strawberry floats.

In what universe is Gotham better than Flash and Arrow?

In the universe where what I've seen of Flash and Arrow (Admittedly not much. Maybe 5-10 minutes of each) I thought was shite. Whereas I watched a good 7/8 episodes of Gotham and managed to get some enjoyment out of it before getting bored. As with anything I'm open to changing my opinion but I've got no inclination to watch either of those shows right now unless someone convinces me that they are substantially better than I think. It's the reason I'm considering going back to SHIELD after ditching it 5/6 episodes in for being irredeemably crap. It's apparently gotten a better now.

Five minutes really isn't enough time to accurately determine a piece of material's worth considering said material has hours worth of content available of it. It would be like reading a paragraph of a book.
Flash and Arrow have been consistently better than Gotham and Shield. Though Shield has drastically improved recently.

It was enough for me to determine that I didn't want to watch them. I don't have to drink or eat all of something to determine I don't like it. I just felt that the first impression I got of them was "This is shite". Like I said though I'm always open to changing my opinion. If you're telling me that I'm wrong and they're good then I'll probably give them a shot.
Warner Bros.’ “Suicide Squad” still looks to be one member short.
Following Tom Hardy’s departure from the role of Rick Flag, sources now tell Variety that Jake Gyllenhaal has passed on an offer to play the leader of the superhero team.
WB had no comment.
The film currently stars Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Jai Courtney and Cara Delevingne, with David Ayer directing. The pic doesn’t go into production until April, so there is still plenty of time to find another person to fill the role.
