Just watched 'Assault on Arkham', I'm convinced this potentially could be quite brilliant. Interesting premise of breaking into Arkham and causing absolute mayhem while introducing a load of characters to setup future Bat films could work quite well. Hell, they could even loosely bring in the Nolan Batverse, why Joker is in Arkham and how in comes into contact with the Suicide Squad. Those lesser villains are definitely dying though

Solely going by Assault on Arkham, one potential annoyance, there would be a hell of a lot of Will Smith on screen time :dread:

Who's the actress playing her? Looks like Helen Flanagan in one of those pics.

The Noo Jawsey accent she was doing in Wolf of Wall Street would work well for Harley.

JK Simmons is playing Jim Gordon which means it's less likely he'll be playing Jameson again in the MCU.

The Justice League has found its Commissioner Gordon.

Oscar winner J.K. Simmons has been cast as the Gotham City police commissioner.

Justice League, which will be directed by Zack Snyder, sees heroes Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), The Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) teaming up to combat a threat beyond each member's capabilities.

Chris Terrio wrote the screenplay for Justice League, which will be released in two parts by Warner Bros. It's produced by Charles Roven, Zack Snyder and Deborah Snyder.

He's a good actor but I can't see him as Gordon.

There's no stopping the DCU now, but at least the next two movies aren't being directed by Zack Snyder. There's certainly hope for the Wonder Woman movie judging by her appearance in Batman v Superman.

Anyway, here are some Amazonians

Look strawberry floating epic :datass: Both of 'em. DCCU back on track hopefully. The tone of the JL teaser is completely diffetent to MoS and BvS  The whole movie isn't gonna be full of comedy like that teaser was but still, good early signs. JL only started filming a month or two ago so that's all very early, rough footage, too. You feel Ezra Miller is gonna kill it as The Flash.

I'm quietly optimistic about Wonder Woman and Justice League from those. Neither of them blew me away, but I put that down to my usual indifference to DC in general. Hopefully it'll be the start of an increase in quality after BVS was such a mess.

Bottom pic is mine, taken at a place a few miles away.

It's also Lara's home in most Tomb Raider things.

Flash loses a second director.

"When I was approached by Warner Bros. and DC about the possibility of directing The Flash, I was excited about the opportunity to enter this amazing world of characters that I loved growing up, and still do to this day," Famuyiwa said Monday in a statement to THR.

He added: "I was also excited to work with Ezra Miller, who is a phenomenal young actor. I pitched a version of the film in line with my voice, humor and heart. While it’s disappointing that we couldn’t come together creatively on the project, I remain grateful for the opportunity. I will continue to look for opportunities to tell stories that speak to a fresh generational, topical and multicultural point of view. I wish Warner Bros., DC, Jon Berg, Geoff Johns and Ezra Miller all the best as they continue their journey into the speed force

In pre-production to film in March 2017 :dread:

Green Lantern reboot coming! (Did we know that?)

Green Lantern Corps - Hal Jordan and John Stewart as lethal weapon in space

They'd announced a Green Lantern reboot previously but not said which Green Lanterns would be in it. Gardner and Stewart would be a better pairing than Jordan and Stewart if they want to go Lethal Weapon.

Ben Affleck Will Not Direct ‘The Batman’

Ben Affleck has decided to step down as director of “The Batman” and remain on as a producer and star of the project.

Affleck is still on board to play the superhero, but sources close to the talent said Affleck and Warner Bros., after discussing how to best make the film possible, came to the decision together.

“There are certain characters who hold a special place in the hearts of millions,” Affleck said in a statement. “Performing this role demands focus, passion and the very best performance I can give. It has become clear that I cannot do both jobs to the level they require. Together with the studio, I have decided to find a partner in a director who will collaborate with me on this massive film. I am still in this, and we are making it, but we are currently looking for a director. I remain extremely committed to this project, and look forward to bringing this to life for fans around the world.”

Sources say this decision was solely made based on what’s best for the project and had nothing to do with the recent disappointment of Affleck’s recent directing job “Live by Night.”

Affleck and Warner Bros. will now begin searching for a new director. Sources say there is a shortlist and that “War for the Planet of the Apes” helmer Matt Reeves is among those on the list.

“Warner Bros. fully supports Ben Affleck’s decision and remains committed to working with him to bring a standalone Batman picture to life,” the studio said a statement.

Affleck has completed work as the Caped Crusader in “Justice League,” which opens Nov. 17, and he was preparing to go into prep on the solo “Batman” movie this summer. Affleck co-wrote the script with Geoff Johns.

There had been rumblings that Affleck was considering not directing the film during the past month, but in recent weeks sources say the multi-hyphenate came to the decision it was best to let the directing job go and focus on playing the part.

Can kind of see the logic. Cowriting, directing and playing Batman in one film does seem a lot.
