You're not buying a game because of the..frames per second? :dread:

Yes, because they have locked the physics and other things to the frame rate. We left that gooseberry fool in the past some 10 years ago. It will be quite noticeable on my monitor as well, I had the same problem with dark souls, it flickered like a mother strawberry floater for me, dsfix improved it quite a bit.

I dont know why, but that sounds strawberry floating incredible.

Don't understand what the last thing you said means.

But if it flickers then fair enough.

In dark souls I got flickering when it was at 30fps, I used the dsfix (it was a mod / framerate and resolution fix) with it that knocked it to 60fps and the flicker pretty much disappeared.

I am willing to suffer through 30fps if I have to but hopefully it will be fixed. If it is 30fps then I at least expect them to get 1080p, improve the textures and have a good draw distance.

Games designed around 30fps :fp: The game is essentially defective.

Is there any reason that the original hasn't come to PC? I'm keen to play it but I can only leave one console plugged in at a time due to limited power and HDMI ports and the Wii U has a pretty permanent place at the moment.

Only 25% off? Pfft.

It's about £13 from Russian traders.

PostRe: Dead Rising 3: PC 30FPS or uncapped + uncapped footage
by Saint of Killers » Sun Jun 22, 2014 11:30 am

Here's the second gameplay footage that was captured in uncapped frame rate mode (but v-synched to a 60Hz monitor).

Footage #2: https://mega.co.nz/#F!G1wXgZAC!aJtEBsc92rCl6dRwb3f31w
(note: you may have to copy/paste the above URL into a separate web browser if you're viewing this thread through the Steam client)

Yesterday's footage was designed to show one of the more stressful, system-demanding scenarios within the game by selecting the latter part of game where there are thousands of zombies.

Footage #2 focuses on Nick Ramos' melee combat abilities and realtime cut scene, followed by a quick tour of the in-game menu options.

========================
Hey folks,

It’s been really awesome to see how passionate you guys are about Dead Rising 3 on the PC. Now that the game is coming to Steam, there has been a ton of positive response and excitement in the community as well. There also has been a ton of discussions around the game’s min and rec specs as well as a lot of speculation on how the game might run with the frame rate uncapped.

Allow me to set the record straight -- while Dead Rising 3 is optimized to run at 30 frames per second for gameplay reasons, you can expect it to still run fine uncapped under most conditions provided you have a capable enough hardware. We can’t guarantee that there won’t be issues, and obviously depending on your rig you may see different results. Rest assured the beefier your gaming machine, the smoother your zombie killing experience will be. :)

Bear in mind the frame rate will fluctuate in uncapped mode in certain areas, particularly later in the game, where streets are literally filled with zombies and other complex objects. Couple that with an open world sandbox game engine, big explosions, complex physics interaction, and huge draw distance and you’re bound to experience dips here and there. Speaking from personal experience, here’s one example[mega.co.nz], a 4-minute gameplay footage, where I play-tested one of the builds in uncapped mode on an i7-4770K & GTX 780 Ti setup.

Yeah it was 8am for weeks then Capcom decided everyone has to wait for America. Japan has it now.

Pirates have it now too yet still they decided with two days to go to delay the unlock.

Japan.

Also my post from PCGT:
Played a bit more DR3. Got to the main area and the framerate has gone to pot. Varying from 60 down to 35, sometimes somewhat understandably and sometimes utterly randomly. In an hour it also crashed to desktop twice. After all the streaming they did on twitch without any problems I thought this would be fine

Watch Dogs is better optimised than this.

The PC version is still vastly superior. The problems have been caused by it being an Xbox One exclusive, being built for such inferior hardware originally has screwed it for us.

It's a strawberry floating brilliant game, it looks and runs perfectly fine on X1. Just cap it at 30 and play it at higher res on PC no? Greedy bastards.

Read what you want, I'm telling you, it plays and runs fine. I played it to completion and I honestly cant remember ANY drops, not saying there wherent any but I honestly didnt notice ANY in about 14hrs play. :datass:

It's a really good game, in fact I'd say its easily in my top 5 from last year. To say its fun sounds like im underselling it but it really is just SO much fun. Haven't played a game with such irreverent humour in forever. Sunset Overdrive looks to pick up on this also.

Grab a mate and play it, I didnt like DR1/2 but loved this to bits. I like it soo much im gonna re-buy it when it gets a significant price drop.
