You've just listed a string of games that take the zombie genre seriously. Everyone does, and it's been done to death. That's why Dead Rising exists :shifty:

Plus at least in the first one the plot was pretty good so it did everything right.

Saying that, the Left 4 Dead series struck a right balance. That was quite a serious shooter, but with quirky moments! DR is just too silly for my liking!

You know you don't need to dress up or do anything silly to play Dead Rising, right? That's what they market it with because there's nothing else like it. It's a USP. You're genuinely missing out on one of the best zombie games ever for no reason.

The story is hardly batshit insane (well for a zombie game) like those things you don't have to do.

Missing out, you are.

You should get the remake of the original on the XBO. It has a fairly decent story and none of the things you've mentioned are part of the story and nor do you need to do any of them. You may find you try out a few costumes, you are in a shopping centre after all.....

Don't dress up and this is one serious game, one of if not the best game of last gen.

Yes?

I played Dead Rising 3 seriously, as much as I could, the cut scenes are a bit nutso.

What happens if Nintendo reboot Samus into a big breasted gal to appeal the teenager market? That would be a lot big deal.

So what Capcom have done to this character to take him from this...

...to this...

...is the equivalent of introducing sexual objectification into Samus' character?

EDIT - Apart from the fact that clearly that was already done, its not the same thing at all. Clearly the change in Frank West is because the original character model was weird.

Just no. Yes it is strange to complain that they've changed Frank West. Deal with it.

Chuck was by far the best DR protagonist anyway.

1min 27secs

I thought this was a remake with some extras, didn't realise it's actually a sequel with older Frank going back to the mall and stuff.
Dead Rising 4 is not Dead Rising

Video is strawberry floating brutal. Shows exactly just how badly the new devs don't understand what made DR1 so great. Its aggravating how they keep saying "Weve kept what fans love about the game", when they've thrown out about 90% of what fans loved
God damn. Managed to get about three and a half minutes into that before I had to stop. Actually painful to see three people so obviously out of touch with everything that made the original what it was.

I've just put 28 hours into the remastered original and that - to me at least - is the definitive Dead Rising experience. No idea what the strawberry float they're going for with #4 but I'm not at all interested.

That 4 player co-op looks awful, I'd rather play L4D! :fp:
