That’s a coincidence... I have this week started to replay the game on my PS3. It’s one of my favourite titles; just so weird and terrible and superb*.

* Description is a totally accurate take on the game.

The gameplay sucks. But the story and characters were worth playing for.

Sinner sandwich!

I picked this up a few years ago and while I was enjoying the absurdity of the characters and the story, I ended up giving up on it because it took too long to drive everywhere. It seemed everytime I'd check the map the place I wanted to go to was the other side of town and would take me 15 minutes to drive there, I just didn't have the patience for it.

I started Deadly Premonition 2 a few days ago (i'm about 8 hours in), and I am really enjoing it. Not in a "LOL it's so janky" way, just the characters, the surreal (yet compelling) story and the really good (in places) voice acting.

Yes it's graphically poor, and, of more significance, the loading times when leaving a building and going outside is totally unacceptable, but the game is way more charming and captivating than most 3rd person open(ish) world style games.
