In early 2010, Ignition Entertainment Ltd., a UTV Enterprise, a worldwide publisher and developer of videogames is working in conjunction with Marvelous Entertainment to give gamers a glimpse into Deadly Premonition, a third-person survival horror action game releasing in North America on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.

Deadly Premonition, developed by Access Games, is a third-person survival horror action game which puts players in the role of the intuitive FBI Agent Francis York Morgan. In the process of investigating a murder, players will examine a series of interlocking mysteries in a remote rural town and will encounter an array of complex characters pivotal to the unraveling of the storyline’s mystery. Suspenseful action sequences will force players to make strategic moves, gliding by enemies in the shadows or engaging them with long-range weapons or hand-to-hand melee combat. From the unparalleled atmosphere, music and mysterious storyline to driving vehicles and exploring the entire town, Deadly Premonition will offer players a unique and haunting interactive gaming experience unlike any other.

“Deadly Premonition is an intense and unforgettable action game that we are thrilled to add to Ignition’s 2010 lineup,” said Shane Bettenhausen, New Business Development Director of Ignition Entertainment. “The gifted developers at Access Games have created a game that will undoubtedly heighten players’ senses as they dive deeper into the mysterious town, eerie story line and action-packed interactive elements.”

This is a strange one. The art is terrible - very last-gen - and it seems to be some kind of Silent Hill/RE hybrid wannabe. This trailer has been slaughtered in the Comments section over on GT by just about everyone who has watched it. One really has to wonder how games like this get funded - you don't have to be a skilled developer or a talented artist to see, immediately, it's a dreadful-looking game that has FAIL writ large all over it. And yet, somehow, somewhere, someone is paying for all this, presumably under the impression it is a 'good thing'...

Making a video game - even a bad one - ain't cheap. It's one of things that fascinates me about the game industry.

Really hope this comes out over here, it might look terrible but I've always wanted to play a Lynch-esque game.

I think this looks incredible. Definite purchase.

You should get back in the game Mitch Yost.

7/10 from Eurogamer. :shifty:

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/deadl ... ion-review

There's one moment that sums up Deadly Premonition better than any other, and perhaps tells you more than the score below possibly can. It's a line that comes at the end of a lengthy ghost story, relayed by a store owner in hushed tones under a dim, green light: "Cope's Tunnel...some people call it Corpse Tunnel now." It's played absolutely straight, and it's impossible to tell whether you're supposed to laugh or take it seriously.

That's Deadly Premonition to a T. It's the Amy Winehouse of videogames: rambling and incoherent, a bit of a mess and not much to look at, but with a unique and distinctive voice that's very hard to ignore. Isn't that right, Zach?

I'd be very careful with that. No website I've seen it on has suggested it has anything other than an English language instruction sheet.

The PlayStation Hong Kong site has it down as English language, maybe I'll wait for someone to confirm it :shifty:

Looks terrible.

The cut scenes have that MGS2 shiny-faces looks if anyone knows what I mean. Right?
