This Dan Pinchbeck guy...anyone know anything about him?

EDIT: found some info...he is who I thought he was. Did some work with him a few years ago.

77mins, start to finish for me, this very afternoon, over one slightly extended lunch hour.

Lovely experience, very sad and poetical, quite beautiful to look at throughout. Will give it a while, then go through it again. Apparently the experience can alter subtly between playthroughs.

£6.99 is a lot for what was delivered. I'd say this is a 7.5/10. Unusual. Unique. But not a game.

Perhaps it's because I'm a bit of a M.R. James fan, and ghostly figures on a rugged coastline have always kind of freaked me out but when I came to this scene -

I have to admit it put the gooseberry fools right up me far more than anything like Amnesia or the other usual staple of "horror" games.

Did you deduct a point for a lack of an easy mode?

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

Just played through. Hour and a half on the dot. Nice piece of storytelling even if the first act does outstay it's welcome. Nothing that I wouldn't expect from this type of thing though. The price is definitely too high but from reading about they weren't confident of repaying the indie fund. Luckily they have already been able to pay them back so this should hit a decent price in the next sale. Pick it up once it's sub-£4 for sure.

Took some screens for the screenshot thread and a video of the first section so people can get a taste of what it is.

That was really enjoyable. The mid to late stuff looked incredible.

I spotted another two ghosts. Freaked me out.

About 1.5gb.

Is this a standalone thing, or is that on top of half life 2?

Edit: Answered my own question. 8-)

Looking on the steam forums and there are a lot of things there that are easy to miss.

The only ghost I saw was the one on the cliff edge before you get to the antenna. Turns out that is one of many. Lots of grim reaper appearances. These are taken from the thread here: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/s ... ?t=2548306

The next one apparently rotates between this guy, death and esther.

The antenna ghost rotates as well but someone has kindly captured them all.

As well as these sightings they've collected shots of the items found throughout the island that relate to the plot and broken down all the symbols painted around.

On my playthrough I only saw one, near the end by the candle and even that I wasn't sure. Didn't realise there were so many sightings.

5/10

It is decent, I just think it needed more to it.

Also... Mind telling me what actually happened in this game?

Were you in an accident? Or was Esther? And what is up with the drawings and the ghosts?

Read about this in Edge and thought it look great. Glad it's on Steam, would like it a bit cheaper though but I'll buy it now anyway. Looks pretty. :)
