Thanks. All the congrats must go to Rax though for provided such deep responses. All I did was cut, paste and add in the odd apostrophe ;) . I've got a couple of future castaways in progress and after talking with Errkal, the plan is to release these on a monthly basis with the next one coming towards the end of June. And there are some very interesting selections amid their choices...

This is just the kind of thing that is great for GR view, enjoyed reading it. Add me to the list of future castaways (which I imagine at one a month is a way away!)

This new initiative has been a real boost for Errkal's GR View, too, standing alongside Pedz' Retro reports as a key pillar of the service. Excellent stuff and it will be great to discover what games future castaways select!

How dare Rex ruin my Retro blog

This has also inspired me to start reading GRview and to revisit actually posting content to it. I said I would do it when it first launched but I could never think of stuff to post on there. Ill give it some proper thought again though.

What ever you want, do a "This month I have mostly been playing ..." diary piece where you do a kind of conversational thing about what you have been playing for the last month and what you are looking forward to in the month ahead.

I was thinking about doing something like that, even though it will be the same game for several months at a time when I play a bigger game. :slol:

I think something like that might be worth doing though as my gaming habits have changed massively so exploring that a bit might be of interest. To me if to no-one else.

Unless you spend months playing the same bit of the game it would still be different as you hit new areas and challenges so could work quite well :D

Yeah, you could do something of a walkthrough, but one that's a journey of your experience rather than a guide of where one goes.

Just look at my Retro Stuff it's 3 small paragraphs that aren't written very well, but get across in very basic terms how I feel about my hour of a retro game each week.

Enjoyed your list Rax, if I was given it as my desert games I think I could cope!

The next contributor is well under way with a publishing date of 26th June for part 1. Who will it be and what will they chose?

In the meantime, I'm tinkering around with a little something to fill gap. Sort of related, sort of not.

Sure, I'll add you into the list.

I mentioned about a little something else I was considering and the article is now up on GRView. It's kind of related to this thread.

Oh and there is a slight addition to the article as I bought Horizon Zero Dawn at the weekend. :fp:

I find that the 'pile of shame' frustrates me less now I'm moving towards digital. I've got hundreds of unplayed digital games, but since they're hidden from view they don't annoy me as much. I'll play them all eventually...

That's the thing though, I'm starting to wonder if I could actually play all the games I own without getting a major illness or being made redundant.

Great article, Rex! Man, that situation strikes a chord with me. In the past few years I've been buying games and not playing them... I get caught up in the hype but then barely put any time into them. I flit about between games, barely learning the controls before moving on to something else; before sometimes returning and having to re-learn the controls. It is just daft.

I like your idea of selecting a range of titles and then sticking with them. That could be something that I really need to try out.

Yeah I don't really think I'll get through every one, especially being the completionist that I am. I've started playing games which are quick completions first, just so I can make some inroads.
