Desert Island Games - New Episode out now - MHTL

Apologies for the delay in getting part 3 out to you, I had a few bits to tie up at the end (and I'm essentially lazy too). I've been told it'll hit the newstands at 6pm tonight!

That 'get a platinum and pick another game' rule would keep me safe I think. There's not much that I don't finish these days, even managed to 1000G Dark Souls 1 & 2 before moving on.

I thought it was a reasonable trade off for the year but I then realised that most of the games I'd picked have 100s of hours to get the platinum. :fp:

I guess the other way to have done it was to pick a few easy plats at first (No Man's Sky is almost done, I've only got a couple of gold trophies to get now) but then I ran the risk of not wanting to play them.

I like your approach of selecting just eight games, Rex. In the past couple of years I've flitted from game-to-game, not really getting into any of them. When I have focused on a single title or two, I've enjoyed them (and got further into them) far more.

So, at the moment I am applying that "controlled focus", too. In the past couple of weeks I've played Final Fantasy XIV Online and PES 2017... and that's pretty much it. I'm enjoying both of them, so the approach must be working!

That was a cool set of final selections, mhtl - with a twist in the tale for that last choice!

I enjoyed reading through that Desert Island mix; bravo, mhtl and Rex.

I really enjoyed the experience too, it was great fun picking the list and answering the questions. Think I've bigged up Rex's ego enough already, but thanks to him for doing an amazing job with the concept.

Looking forward to seeing the next GRcadian take on the challenge!

Just discovered this thread now and read the articles. Brilliant stuff! Really enjoyed it. Nice work from all involved! I'd be happy to take part if your list isn't too long already, Rex :mrgreen:
