Destiny 2: The Witch Queen out now

If you want to get better stuff the public events are great as are the quests which give both exotic and legendary weapons.

Finally did that disgusting crucible quest. Is it just me or have they really nerfed normal melee attacks and the running ones? I was hitting people with the running shield bash and it wasn't even taking off their whole shield and it felt like I needed 3 or 4 punches to kill someone

The only good thing about crucible is that I'm not constantly being killed by snipers or shotguns.
The main problem is pretty much the only way to play seems to be running about as a pack of 4 and trying to just steamroller everyone. All other tactics are pretty much pointless.

R.I.P. shotguns and snipers in PvE because they couldn't balance them in PvP properly so just moved them to the heavy weapon slot.

I'm quite surprised by all the hate for Crucible as I've really enjoyed the games I've played.

What is Trials of the Nine btw? I stopped playing the first game before it got introduced. Is the only difference that you can only enter as an actual fireteam of 4?

Yeah it's a 4v4 elimination mode where your logout is locked after you start and you get a scorecard and play 7 games or something like that. It has its own gear associated with it.

Really like this so far. Bungie seem to have perfected the "more-ish" nature of these games and their atmosphere, design and sound are second-to-none.

I'm not really up on the lore, though. Will the Hive feature in this at all? Their locations, particularly the ones on the moon, were amazing in Destiny.

The Hive are in it but the campaign mostly focuses on the Cabal.

Are the servers down again? Can't seem to log in.

Anyone feel this doesnt quite have the content we've been led to believe? I mean the majority of us are already at the end game grind. There's literally nothing new in this, the Lost Sectors seems quite interesting in the beginning but they seem pointless by the time you reach high level. The planet NPC's seem limited in scope, the social spaces pointless as ever and the grind is on once again.

I just cannot see how this has legs going forward, I'm almost at the point where I'm a bit bored quite frankly.

The huge influx of loot so early on doesn't help either as it's just too easy to get to the highest light level.
I still think I'll be playing this for a while as the raid is going to take us ages to figure out (I hope we all stick to the no guides rule and try and do it ourselves) and I've only done a handful of strikes so those are still fresh for me and I always find public events worthwhile but I agree the magic of the lost sectors is rather limited as it's just kill everyone and then a boss and it would have been nice to have something more akin to the planetary quests which I thought were pretty great.
The Earth quest about the captain of the Exodus Black is a particular highlight as it's not a bad little story and shows something of the wider lore of the game.

Yeah it takes 3 melee hits from full health, BUT you can just spray them with an SMG then punch them and it takes roughly the same time as a 2 punch would in the first game.

The running ones take a follow up melee to kill, but they now have AOE + status effects

I like PVP more now, it's not perfect though. I just like how I can use my shield to save myself from dying of the other person gets the first shot, it feels great, allows you to peak corners without risk of getting shot too

A way to glitch into the flawless room for trials has been found and it's super easy.

Ive got upto level 20 but havent yet finished the story mode. What does finising the story enable?

Ive already got strikes and patrols and stuff, and the sparrow is available. The drops are still a bit stingy at level 16-18 though - so does finishing the story enable level 20 weapon/armour drops?

Think you need to finish the story to unlock the Quest and Adventure missions, possibly the raid as well.
