Just saw something about this not being on Steam but on the Blizzard launcher.

It seems like the new Warlock can now choose between a healing or extra damage aoe ability. It'll be interesting to see if this is more powerful than the Destiny 1 warlock super ability to add grenades to people within an area as that was all sorts of gooseberry fool to the point that I don't think anyone ever noticed when I used it unless I said I'd used it and even then hardly anyone bothered chucking grenades as the buff was so small.

I can't wait to see how unbalanced the new stuff is in pvp and watch them flail about with patch after patch trying to fix it.

It's going to be the only game in the Blizzard app without, right?

I have a feeling you aren't going to get this Mafro.
I must admit I'm mostly returning because the GRCade team is so nice and not in any way tryhard. When I get this I think I'm going to avoid the PVP as like you point out the balancing is all over the place and I'm really not the sort who can be bothered to grind for whatever weapon is currently best.

I'm interested to see what the other versions of the Warlock are like as while the super sword thing looks nice I'd prefer a super that's defensive or a team effect.

Yep, I think I'll definitely buy this as I loved Destiny and had many great times with you all. So I'd love to do it again on Destiny 2. Can't wait. :datass:

Yep. Think it's the only major online FPS that doesn't use them too (COD Infinite Warfare might not too, can't remember exactly but I think it might use both dedicated servers and p2p)

I'll get it at some point, not sure if I'll get it at launch or not depends if I'll have time to play it. Need to see the DLC roadmap too.

I'm in on launch but I'm holding off on any season passes, or any of the DLC, until I get a guarantee that they're suitably substantial. I can still feel the sting off the pitiful offerings from the last game, Taken King aside.

I noticed in the gameplay of the first mission they're using that microphone rocket launcher exotic that was cut from the first game.

I think the most interesting thing may be the side missions and dungeons that can be played from patrol as if they're varied and the loot is decent this may be a way to create lot's of extra content without the developers having to do do that much as they can just have loads of starting points on the patrols and then just change the dungeons every so often.
Just have a small team concentrating on small dungeon design and they could add a huge amount to patrol and that's on top of patrol itself being more interesting by having more varied enemy placement and AI routines.

Bungie explains why.

IGN: "Why did you make that decision. You're like 'We're going to lock it at 4K/30 max on consoles.' Is it just like, you don't want to push the consoles too hard, or why do you make that choice?"

Luke Smith: "I mean, I'm going to wade into this, and you [Mark Noseworthy] can flesh it out. The console, the PS4 Pro is super powerful, but it couldn't run our game at 60. Our game's this rich physics simulation where collision of players, networking, etc, and like, it wouldn't run."

IGN: "Yeah, makes sense."

Luke Smith: "Not enough horsepower there."

Mark Noseworthy: "But there's tons of GPU power in the PS4 Pro. That's why we're doing 4K, right? It's on the CPU side. Destiny's simulation, like we have more AI, more monsters in an environment with physically simulated vehicles and characters and projectiles, and it's part of the Destiny magic, like that, like 30 seocnds of fun, like coming around a corner and throwing a grenade, popping a guy in the head, and then you add like 5, 6, 7 other players in a public event; that is incredibly intensive for hardware."

I think some people who think Destiny 2 can be 4K 60fps on Scorpio are kind of missing that doing so would give them an advantage which surely just can't happen.

Begs the question why even have this mid-life console upgrades, if you're scared of two platforms not having parity or even scaling back the "Pro" version so as to not upset or alienate your vanilla user base.

I think parity needs to stay for online multiplayer for the sake of fairness but single player games can use the extra power as they see fit.
It would be pretty shitty if I had an advantage simply because I owned a Pro or Scorpio.

They really should have concentrated on getting 60fps on console even if it meant it looked slightly worse.
