Yeah, the single playthrough rule is just deplorable, isn't it?
I bought 5 :shifty: I'm bang into the smart vision so I reduced its power consumption and made my Aug power bar bigger. 3 quid something well spent.

Buff :fp:

I think your augments carry over to NG+ so on a second play through it's possible to max everything anyway.

The game practically throws Praxis kits at you anyway, well before the end of maxed the main things I wanted and was struggling to decide what to bother investing in since it was stuff I'd never use on a stealth play through.

To be fair the game is just straight up more fun when you have all your abilities

Five praxis kits. Five. Sense of perspective here, guys.
Haven't even visited the Task Force office yet :fp: Just doing all of the great side missions instead.

Padmé: Buff, I was so worried about you! Preezy... told me terrible things!

Buff: What things?

Padmé: He said... you purchased Deus Ex micro-transactions. That you... bought extra Praxis kits!

Buffalo: Preezy is trying to turn you against me.

Padmé: He cares about us.

Buffalo: Us?

Padmé: He knows. He wants to help you. Buff, all I want is your love.

Buff: Love won't save you, Padme. Only my new Praxis powers can do that!

Padmé: But at what cost? You're a good person, don't do this!

Buffalo: I won't lose you the way I lost Paul Denton. I am becoming more powerful than any UNATCO agent has ever dreamed of, and I'm doing it for you. To protect you.

Padmé: Come away with me. Help me raise our child far away. Leave everything else behind while we still can!

Buffalo: No. Don't you see? We don't have to run away anymore! We no longer have to hide our love for each other. I am more powerful than the publisher, I... I can overthrow them! And together, you and I can rule Prague! We can make things the way we want them to be!

Padmé: I don't believe what I'm hearing! Preezy was right... you've changed! You have turned to the dark side! You're not Buffalo anymore!

Buffalo: [with a growing angry look and voice] I don't want to hear any more about Preezy. The forum turned against me. Don't you turn against me!

Padmé: [crying] Buff, you're breaking my heart! You're going down a path I cannot follow!

Buffalo: Because of Preezy?

Padmé: Because of what you've done... what you plan to do! Stop! Stop now... come back... I love you!

[Buffalo looks beside Padme and sees Preezy standing at the forum's exit overhearing them]

Buffalo: [enraged and paranoid] Liar! You're with him! You brought him here to moderate me!

Just finished it now and this is so true - I finished the game with 27 unused praxis kits as I had no need/use for them! I was holding on to some as I wanted to wait in case I decided to mix up my approach later in the game, then the game ended!

Maybe I played it with the wrong expectations, or didn't pick up on the signs it was giving me, but the whole seems to just end out of nowhere? It feels like about 20-30% of a story has been told and then "ping!" game complete! It's like playing the original Deus Ex and the game just ending when you leave New York.

That said I hugely enjoyed it, the Prague hub was really well put together, and the whole stealth, hacking, silently eliminating targets game play scratches a real itch for me. I just really wanted more from it, and it to do something more interesting with the characters and story threads that get set up. Human Revolution had plenty of flaws, some of which this has corrected or reduced, but at least it told more of a complete story.

It's a not so quiet secret that Square Enix basically split this game in half so they could have a trilogy.

That explains it then. Shame as they did a lot of things really well. As a player it's definitely the worst "ends out of nowhere" experience I can remember - even Halo 2 felt more complete than this!

I agree it felt short but it was clearly building towards the victor confrontation so for people to say it just ended is a little harsh. However I felt disappointed there weren't more hub areas. But the moment to moment gameplay is excellent and the level design is good. I counted 3 or 4 ways to accomplish each task or goal. Whether that be a locked door, camera or patrolling guard. Glass shield was my saviour more times than I can recall.

See now I just didn't feel this at all, to me there was no real build at all. Nothing about the last level felt "last level" to me, in terms of what was at stake, who the antagonists were, how we had got to that point etc. I genuinely thought it was a mid game mission and that the real A plot was still building.

As far as I recall I'd seen Viktor once, maybe twice, as a player before this point, and read a few emails about him but that was about it. Nothing really screamed "big bad" about him (which I guess technically is true as the real baddies are the illuminati etc.)

I really enjoyed the game, as you say the moment to moment gameplay is excellent, it just felt quite muddled in terms of why I was doing things, or at least why I should care about doing them.

Anyone else discovered any game breaking bugs? I'm in the bank about to do a heist (when I chose which mission to do) whenever I try to go up the stairs the screen goes grey and nothing happens.. ☹️

I've tried restarting several times and trying different approaches but which ever way I try it goes grey.

This is new game +

Anyone read the DE:MD thread over on GAF? Some potentially mind blowing theories (with evidence) being bandied about!

I'm reading the the initial post and am all lol NAH!, but then the first reply (imgur album link), and then this...

 :!:

Spoilers aplenty if you haven't finished the game (And maybe even if you have  )

Is this games plot linked to JC Denton?

There is someone who could turn out to be JC Denton (kind of) but, right now, there's no direct link to the character in DE:MD.
