Ironically, they'll legally need planning permission for this, but will probably proceed without it.

Crooked House: Owners of wonky pub ordered to rebuild

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-s ... e-68414524

The owners of The Crooked House pub have been ordered to rebuild "Britain's wonkiest inn" after it was destroyed last year in a suspected arson attack.

South Staffordshire Council has served an enforcement notice on the owners of the pub in Himley, near Dudley.

The council said it had engaged with the owners since the demolition but had reached a point where formal action was considered necessary.

It requires the building to be built back to what it was prior to the fire.

The pub's owners have 30 days to appeal and the notice must be complied with within three years.

The pub caught fire on 5 August in a suspected arson attack and was demolished two days later.

Excellent news. The precedent was there, with the London pub that was demolished and rebuilt, so I'm very pleased they've had the backbone to enforce this one too.

Now watch, as the owner suddenly becomes bankrupt as a way of avoiding it.

The owners of what was once known as "Britain's wonkiest inn" have put forward a plan to rebuild it in a new location after it was demolished following a suspected arson attack.

ATE Farms Limited have been ordered to rebuild the Crooked House pub in Himley, near Dudley, after it was knocked down following a fire in August 2023.

But in appeal documents, it said the current location was "not viable" for a pub and rebuilding on land it owns in the nearby area would increase its "chance of success as a community asset".

They should force the bastards to rebuild in the same location and a replica elsewhere.
