An outstanding finale. I especially loved how Dexter the deadbeat dad dumped his kid with a woman who's known him for like ten minutes rather than with his grandparents and siblings. The fake ending with Quinn homaging the pilot was better than this.

Interesting (slight) counter-opinion - it's critical of the finale, but there are some seeds of truth in this.

On paper, a lot of that makes sense, it's just that the show handled that whole relationship terribly in the final few seasons.

I stopped reading when I got to this:

Without "Dexter" there would be no "Breaking Bad."

Bullshit, it was The Sopranos that created the modern anti-hero protagonist, not Dexter. Dexter has been (in many ways) great, but it's a slightly kitsch book adaptation, not something I consider to be particularly ground breaking.

That was terrible, such an awful ending for the whole thing. :/ He should've been on the run!

Although the pen bit was pretty cool.

It was pretty much the worst thing ever though. I was so angry after watching it, I knew it was going to be bad, I told myself I wouldn't watch it and yet I did, and strawberry float me I'll never have that hour back.

Of course we will, most of us who post here really love Dexter and have seen their beloved program go down hill. We all knew it wouldn't end the way we wanted it to but fans have every reason to bitch about it.

At the end of the day Dexter was a shadow of what it was in the early seasons

This was worse than anything Lucas did to Star Wars or Indy.

Horrific, unlubed, violent franchise rape.

Finished. It was actually quite good, not sure why people are bitching so much. It was a fitting end, but it's a shame the season leading up to it dragged on so much.

It's nowhere near as bad as the BSG finale :lol:

God did it so magic.

Struggling to think of a more botched final season than this. Lost and BSG were nowhere near the scale of this disaster.

BSG was so much worse. The show set itself up to have lots of mysteries and then pulls that gooseberry fool at the end

Why was Argentina almost completely CG though? :lol:

Honestly, Dexter's finale wasn't too bad, despite the poor writing. It could have been better, but it could have been wore.
