Conversely, I really need to put some hours in and get into the game. Had it for nearly a year now and haven't done much.

It just seems overly-simplistic and repetitive. But I want it to sort of fill that grindy hole that will be vacated when I inevitably get tired of Destiny again.

Out on the PTR next week. The Diablo 1 rift is meh, but I'm in for the Necromancer as long as it doesn't cost a stupid amount.

Necromancer Release Date and Price Revealed
Steel your hearts and get ready to maintain the Balance, nephalem. We’re only a week away—The Rise of the Necromancer Pack is arriving June 27 on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One!

Comprised of controlled, calculating individuals, the Priests of Rathma have long known the true stakes at the heart of the Eternal Conflict. Known to uneducated outsiders as Necromancers, these masters of blood, bone, and the dark arts are often misunderstood. Driven to protect the Balance at all costs, those dedicated to walking this path see neither good nor evil in their actions; simply obedience to the cycle of being.

The Rise of the Necromancer is a purchasable content pack coming to Diablo III: Reaper of Souls and Diablo III: Ultimate Evil Edition. The pack will be available for purchase starting June 27, 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, and will cost $14.99 USD.

Hmm, £12.99 is a bit much for me considering all the other stuff coming out in the next few months. I haven't played diablo in a long time so will probably give it a miss.

Will definitely pick it up sooner rather than later, even if only because D3 makes for a great game to dip in and out of.

So I plumped down the £12 for the Necromancer and it's completely reinvigorated my interest in the game. I mean, at one point I had 10 resurrected enemies, 10 Skeletal Mages, 6 skeleton minions, my pet and my follower accompanying me (and that's not to mention the "Army of the Dead" power which causes a literal army to appear for a few seconds). It's ridiculously fun to storm in with a squad of undead and wreck gooseberry fool up.

Yeah, I have no idea how seasons work so created a Seasonal hero and am almost done with all the Acts. Apparently Adventure Mode is active for all seasonal heroes from the start? Having never actually completed the campaign I have no idea what this means so have ploughed through the whole thing, thoroughly enjoying it along the way.

Suppose it’s worth resurrecting this topic for switch?

Can someone explain how I do the seasonal tasks?

I’m working through story mode with a seasons character. Can I do the different seasonal objectives in story mode, or are they all aimed at Adventure?

I also reinstalled this on PC after the Blizzcon mess got me thinking about it again, and I'm feeling pretty lost, coming back after years away. I had a level 30 something Barb, somewhere in the campaign, (although I'm sure I'd finished it before,) and wasn't sure what to do, so thought I'd start afresh with a new character.

Rolled a Wizard, but it looks like all my previous story unlocks/upgrades are already in place. Ended up going to unlock the blacksmith, even though he was already in town.

It also feels easier than it did before. Fought the skeleton King, and beat him with a 2 second blast of my mouse 2 ability, so I'm bumping the difficulty up to hard when I go back to it.

The game really isn't about being hard it's about optimising your character and build for ultimate effect.
It's all about grinding for items (I find this relaxing as you can just do a few dungeons at a time and normally get something new that can change your kit) and becoming pretty much a demigod.
You'll quickly have a character who can fly through Torment levels and onto the real endgame which is set building and getting items for the set you enjoy using.

My first character was a Mage with 2 Hydras and my second was a Necromancer with a horde of undead allies.

If you like what amounts to a collectathon game with combat you'll enjoy it if not then this isn't the game for you.

The seasonal stuff is terribly explained.

So, when you complete the story mode you'll unlock adventure mode, which is essentially a non-story, go anywhere mode with randomly generated objectives, 5 per Act. The aim is to grab loot, which allows you to ramp up the difficulty, which gives you more XP and higher drop chances so you can ramp up the difficulty etc etc. Seasonal stuff can only be completed in this mode.

It's really fun.

I bought the game for PC on release, and it was a bit of a mess initially with server problems and a terrible auction house. However I got back into it when it was announced on Switch, and it's a much better game nowadays. I really love the game. A great mix of satisfying combat and addictive loot and leveling up.

Now playing on the Switch, I went straight into adventure mode and have leveled up my Demon Hunter to level 70 + paragon 70 since Friday. I've unlocked the season set, and I'm levelling up a 'gem of ease' which will make leveling up another character super-quick and fun.

Also going through the campaign in local mulitplayer, with my daughter at a slower pace.

Oh yeah, I know it's a loot em up, I'm just feeling a bit lost. Thought I'd start afresh, only to discover there's a load of stuff still hanging about from my first playthrough. I tried looking for beginner's guides to explain a couple of basics, and they all just start with "finish the campaign". Although, if the campaign is this easy, I can see why there's so little guidance for it.

Is this £50 on the Switch? I have the game on PS4 and never quite got fully in to it - largely as it felt good easy and simplistic, and because my friend who was supposed to be playing it with me never really liked it. Think I only got up to chapter 3 in the campaign.

But the bloody portability factor has, yet again, got me eyeing up a game I already own. Will it ressurect the game for me or am I just being stupid buying it again at such a cost?

It’s 42 in Argos if you can find somewhere with stock.

I don't live in the UK, so it's either £50 or some wahoo skullduggery.

£50 for this is pretty shocking. They need to stop just going for the money grab with these Switch ports - surely they would sell more copies if it was £25-30. They'd get people like me, who want the portability, and the lower price would entice those who are tempted but ball at the cost of double dipping.
