Is there anyway to increase the damage of a weapon?

I have a legendary staff-thingmy I quite like, but as I have leveled up and found new weapons, though it's perks and bonuses are good, it's now a little wanting on the damage side of things.

what level is the item? if its less than 70 don't worry about it. Or if it is you can add a socket with an item which name escapes me or enchant it. If it has a socket change it to another stat then add a socket with the item. Something gift its called.

If it's a sub-70 weapon then either chuck it and wait to get a new one, or bank it until you get Kanai's Cube, then you can still get its legendary power while using something else. It is absolutely not worth using out-levelled gear.

You can reroll it for more damage-dealing stats with the enchantress, but that's a waste of money right now. Just dump it in the stash. If you're not lvl70 yet, you'll absolutely get much better stuff with the same abilities. Or you can extract the ability later with the cube and equip it as a character trait.

How do you find out your weapon's level? Can only see it's damage and loads of other stats. I'm only level 22 or so, so it'll have a low level obviously.

The trait I really like is it gives my Monk's tempest rush massive damage, ups my Spirit and gives me life per spirit spent. So for big groups of enemies I just run around them causing loads of damage. But to actually hit with them with the weapon is underwhelming.

Any other tips for a newbie? I'm a Monk and just doing the last third of Act 1 now.

Is it worth doing a few characters concurrently and creating some other characters? Or just concentrating on getting this one to level 70? I have no idea how the other classes actually play.

If you're L22 then don't bother keeping it, you'll get better gear.

As for weapon level (I assume) on consoles, no idea. On PC it's just there when you mouse over the item.

It might be worth trying a couple of other characters just to see what they're like; unless you're doing hardcore characters you share inventory and gold, so you can transfer stuff between them.

I'd suggest either Crusader or Barbarian next as they're easy classes to work with, remember to give them rubies in any socketed items that aren't helms or weapons as they're damage is linked to strength.

Monk and Demon Hunter need emeralds (dexterity) and Wizard and Witch Doctor use topaz (intelligence), I completely overlooked this aspect on my first few characters and struggled to even beat the game on easy.

Also DH is stupidly weak at first but becomes ridiculously overpowered when given socketed gear with high quality emeralds later on.

Aye, that's cool.

Invite me into the game when you see me, even if I'm playing something else.

Ooh I'll be around too. What level are you? I'll try and get a toon around the right area.

Same as SoK, invite me even if I'm on something else (which I will be).

I'll bring a monk or something then.

Should I pick up a level relevant weapon? The one I need to use for levelling is a level 70 one with reduced level requirement so if I keep using that we'll obliterate everything.

Should have played it during the 1.0 days. Those mosquito's hit like a truck and you couldn't get decent gear... AND you had to do all those stupid fetch quests.
