That was Starbreaker

I have a little over 100 bounties remaining. *grinds* I could do with a movement speed increase cube power. Stuck as many paragon points in said stat, but I wanna go even faster. I guess an alternative would be use to use wizard's teleport mage's blink and stick PPs in CD reduction, and to wear CD reducing gear.

Must have realised this before, but it hit me again yesterday: There's no way to deselect cube powers! :slol: :fp:

I managed a 56 yesterday with my wizard but with less than a minute to spare. I might dial it back down to 50 or so for solo "safe" runs for now.

Well Greater rift level 45 is Torment 10, so if the rate of scaling stays the same then 56 is equivalent to Torment 12 or so.

56 seems to be the limit of my current crusader solo. Manged a 60 last night with Pete, Akai and my gf although to be fair Akai did most of the work

reading this thread must be what it's like for newbies to Destiny. I have no idea what is being discussed here but i'm looking to get started on this soon on the xbox one whilst i'm waiting for the division to come out.

So any tips for a newbie, things to look out for and what o do from the start. Also what's a good starter character.

The most important noob tip is to keep pushing the difficulty up. In Diablo the higher difficulties (of which there are 15 or so) get you more xp, gold and better drops, and if you stay where it's easy the game gets soul-numbingly boring.

As for characters, they're split into two main types; melee and ranged. They're all fun in their own way, so I'd suggest trying each of them for about 10 levels or so to see which one you like the look of the best. I started by mainlining Witch Doctor, then switched to the Crusader and now play Wizard mostly.

Until you hit level 70 don't bother too much about the specifics of gear - you get new stuff all the time and its not worth spending money to improve anything until max level, which is when a whole load of new systems open up.

Does the combat ever get interesting? My one problem with the game is that in solo play, I am generally just using the same two buttons and tactics. There's been nothing massively intricate or boring. If I push the difficulty up, fights don't necessarily get that much hard, just more of a monotonous slog.

On the way to 70 I'd say keep the difficulty low, it's better to kill lots of enemies quickly than a few slowly. The XP is better too.

Once you get to 70 that's when you want to start gearing up and upping the difficulty. Have a look on diablofans.com for a build you like and then do Rifts/GRifts to get the items you need.

Whilst levelling up keep any legendaries with special effects (extra orange text below the stats). These can be cubed later. Anything that is just a plain legendary scrap.

Once you've finished the story for the first time you unlock Adventure mode - don't go back to story mode. Here is where you can do Rifts/GRifts and bounties. The bounty caches give you the items you need to extract legendary powers for the cube.

Then you aren't bumping it up enough! :P But seriously, if you aren't aware, you can bypass the difficulty increase limit by setting the difficulty in the game settings option on the character screen.

I've seen most of what the game has to offer and the most tactical bit in the game has to be the Akkhan set dungeon. The rest of the time it's down to you to make it interesting. Maybe you'd find it less boring if you used your other abilities.

I'd have a total nerdgasm if I got a Staff of Jordan drop. I did have a regular gasm when I got a Stone of Jordan, though, so it's good to know they're still going. :P

Teamed up with a max level character yesterday. (10k.) One other was around my level and another was around 1500. The game chugged but it was great seeing all those FX flying about.

Day before I teamed up with someone well below max level, but still many thousands of levels above me. Again, we were in a group of 4 and he was by far highest level. We'd did a few rifts and walked 'em, so I bumped difficulty to +1 (T10) and I am pretty sure this much higher level guy skewed the difficulty for everyone :slol:  In the end, we were off the boss by a good minute.
I kept getting hit by... something. I mean, even when not near the heat of battle, I was taking thousands of dmg per second and dying. Was very annoying.
