Anyone playing this? Due to dark souls 3 I haven't been playing it too often, but when i do it just feels like the best rally game i have played in a long, long while. My only criticism with the graphics is that some of the surroundings are a little last gen, but its just so smooth and handles like a dream once the handling has been adjusted.

Not given this a try online yet - any good?

This is on offer on PSN for 29.49 or so. Worth it for a semi decent driver? Is it rock hard from the start or will I get some leeway to make a few mistakes?

It's tricky at first but there's definitely leeway for mistakes, I've played it lots but can't remember ever having to retire due to damage (occasionally went of a cliff but that only really happens in one of the countries) and you only have to finish in the top 3 in the championships to promote.

Thx. I took the gamble and so far glad I did. I think once I get the hang of rallying again I'm going to really enjoy this. Finished 3rd in each of the first 3 countries so far. Love the gfx and damage modelling

Spent a few hours playing this in vr yesterday, absolutely incredible game. I love the feeling of dancing on the edge of disaster for an entire course. There was one with a load of blind crests leading immediately into 3 and 4 corners, setting the car up before the jump and coming out the other side unscathed was brilliant. Currently leading my first championship after 4 races :toot:

Can already see this being one of my favourite ever racing games.

How does the vr work in game - do you have a full 6dof or is your view constricted?

As in VR generally or that game? The field of view generally is restricted a bit so its something like 110 degrees. You're sat in the car cockpit (obviously) and it's very realistic, I almost waved to a spectator going around a hairpin because they were waving at me :fp:

No, but onsidering what they had to do to driveclub to get it running fast enough for VR Dirt Rally would have to look like this:

No just for Dirt - I know in game you can only look a wee bit left and right and a titch up and down, but when you use the vive, can you look all round the car?

Oh yeah, its just like being sat in a real car. You can lean and look behind the seat if you want.

No, but I've had a go on DriveClub VR with it. Was going to get one when it came out but there's no point in getting one now I have the vive.

Cool, I will see if I can get my TrackIR set up, not quite the VR experience but it is the closest I've got... for now

Is it safe to say this game is designed for someone who stopped playing a free copy of Dirt 3 once the trick events started becoming a thing you had to do?

It's pure rallying. Not even slightly arcadey, think project cars instead of gran turismo.
