Its safe to say someone who stopped playing Dirt 3 once they had to play some trick events missed out on a great game.

Some VR footage. For some reason this won't record the headset feed properly and I had to drive facing down for the video to be aiming forward.

So the TrackIR works... however it will take some tweaking...

the hotkeys for resetting the IR camera or changing between precision/non-precision mode don't work while in game for some reason, and there is a bit of lag /acceleration issues when moving your head - which just causes distraction when driving.

but it "works"

This post is exempt from the No Context Thread.

It was about two or three seasons in and it felt like the game had shown me all the different things it was trying to do. Was only interested in the rallys long term and the other events put me off.

Sounds like Rally is right up my alley.

strawberry floating hell, I've moved on to the 70s championship now and bought a lancia stratos. Having come from the slow fwd mini Cooper, this thing is insane. RWD, terrifying lift off oversteer and it feels like you're cornering at 200mph. When you're on the edge stringing corner after corner together inches from a sheer drop on one side and a rock face on the other, there's nothing like it.

This game :datass:

This game is the best at making any podium place feel like an enormous accomplishment.

That sure is true. At times i get quiet frustrated and take a rest from this. I deceased the sensitivity of the controls and it made the game a lot more bearable. The default settings make the handling on ps4 almost impossible imo. I wish codies got us some more tracks and cars via dlc and a nice 4k mode for pro owners - a simple feat imo as the game isn't really graphically intensive and looks like a high res/ framerate ps3 game at times.

I wish they could make the PS4 version work in VR...I'm guessing its just not possible.

Graphics look dreadful but it's still going to be amazing to play like that.

DiRT 4 has been announced for 9th June.

I am guessing it's going more arcade again compared to DiRT Rally, but apparently this will have a track editor :datass: I spent so much time creating tracks on V Rally 2 on the PlayStation

They're making it so you can go either way with a variety of different difficulties as well as leaderboard-separate "Normal" or "Simulation" modes.

That's good! Hopefully none of the Gymkhana stuff makes its way in. I notice the boring figure of 8 races with explosions are there :dread:

Where? I know they've got the World Rallycross license as well as adding stadium buggy racing but saw no combustion beyond exhaust flares.
