You know someone is lining themselves up for a leadership bid when they start commenting on stories that they've no idea about.

"It's wrong on so many levels."
"Could you describe them? The ways it's wrong?"
"Oh it's dreadful, it's just really silly."

You can't see why people would have an issue with the girls shoes being called "Dolly Babe" while the boys shoes are called "Leader"?

I can see the issue, of course.

I think the people in higher places have a lot more to worry about than wading in over a pair of strawberry floating shoes though.

The contentious London Garden Bridge has been scrapped. It has cost Londoners a whopping £46million...

Most people were in support of the concept and idea but what an epically dissapointing and mismanaged mess it has ended up. Done correctly it could and should have been spectacular.

The Dome and London Eye being two examples of temporary or ill-thought out projects that you now couldn't imagine London without.

It was a pile of gooseberry fool from the beginning. And how do you spend that much bloody money without starting construction?

Consultants and some VR construction i believe. Got to meet and order about (for photo purposes) the de facto deputy PM the other day, bow before me mere mortals. Cuts a bit of a grim character.

I didn't think we'd continue to see a backlash against health and safety regulations after Grenfell but here we are with incessant rage directed toward repairers not willing to incur hearing loss while fixing Big Ben.

Yes I saw The Mail story this morning. I don't think they understand how loud Big Ben is bless them! This is a complete non-issue, it will still ring for the important occasions.

I'm not sentimental about it not chiming but 4 years to complete restoration work seems excessive.

I think it is a case of it has been left so long "To save money" that is now going to ake considerably longer and cost considerably more. It is a nice case in point that austerity and putting stuff is worse in the long run than taking the initial hit.

Rail fares increasing by 3.6%

Meanwhile ,13 out of 24 platforms are out of use today at Britain's busiest station, as a train derails outside Waterloo during the current engineering works.

Think of the poor shareholders FFS only lining their pockets with an extra 3.6%.
