Should have done it years ago it's a much better format. Who's got time to read a broadsheet these days?

I read their website, but I doubt it'll help their circulation. The type of people who read the Guardian work in offices so will just opt to read everything online.

I used to get The Guardian every Saturday but reading the newspaper was a waste of time. I'd already read most of it online, the night before. I'd be sad to see the paper go, but I just can't see how they can turn a profit on it, or keep it relevant when news can be more easily accessed online.

Disability charity Scope called on Philip Hammond to withdraw his “totally unacceptable and derogatory comments” after he said Britain’s sluggish productivity could partly be blamed on more disabled people in the workforce .
https://www.theguardian.com/politics/20 ... ed-workers

Passing the blame once again. Instead of telling disabled workers to work harder maybe he should take some responsibility for once.

The whole point of the benefit changes has been to get disabled or economically inactive people into work and reduce the bill.

Something really doesn't add up here.

The disabled are an easy target for somebody that doesn't want to take responsibility for the sluggish economy that he is in charge of.

If they don't work - lazy workshy scroungers claiming benefits!

If they do work - they are slowing down productivity and harming the economy!

That really is an amazing comment of the disability thing. Even if there are more disabled people in work then it's only going to be a small proportion of those that maybe can't do the job as quickly as someone else as most disabled people would go for a job where there disability doesn't effect their work. And even then it must be such a small proportion of the workforce over all that the impact would be so tiny that it's not even noticeable.

Dave can only make 10 pairs of shoes a day due to his disability whilst mark manages to make 15 in the same factory. Yes surely that's the reason the Italians make more fancy shoes than us, let's blame Dave.

The Mail off on one tomorrow:

You can tell the Defence Secretary is new to the job because this is not supposed to be something you put out in the public domain, despite it being standard practise across the world (i.e. a hit list signed off by the PM/President). It usually takes out a load of 'collateral damage' along the way though - as noted on Sky News earlier, its widely believed that for every 1 hit, there's another 9 dead civilians.

I'd have thought that the news of Dame Jude Dench discovering definitive proof that trees are sentient and capable of speech would have been more widely reported.

If people are going to be silly I think they should leaf the thread before this behaviour takes root. Otherwise we'll be weeding it out or it'll become a perennial problem.
