I always think that he’s very similar to Boris. While not the buffoon character that Boris plays, he has that posh boy “charm” that people seem to find amusing.
He would be perfect casting if Richard Curtis made a Britcom about the Tory party.
He's more like Ann Widdecombe in my opinion. Both are conviction politicians with very strong religious beliefs, and both found popularity with the public as "the kooky eccentric" (Widdecombe on Strictly, JRM with his memes).
