That's cool... and pretty tempting :shifty: .

I've completed the first four missions (battles?) and, although I suspect that I've only learnt a tiny subset of the available instructions in the game, my brain is already full :fp:  .

Jawa that's the very tip of the iceberg. There are so many systems and NPCs that aren't available yet with unlocks going up to at least chapter 8 maybe even beyond if you count how the cheat shop works.

Also it looks lovely it's pin point sharp although I haven't really seen how the spell animations effect the performance. Mind you I play with them turned off so guess it won't matter.

Oh gooseberry fool. Then what's the point in the save. Fgs I was confusing the PS4 version.

That's a shame... I think I'll leave the remainder of the demo for now, then. It has been good fun, though.

Yeah, I think this game is going to be a bit of a stretch for me to get into  . Even so, I like what I have played so far and I'm thinking about diving in to it...

Just picked this up in town as Grainger Games have broken the street date.

Game got. Fully persuaded by GRcade.

My brain is ready to learn the weird ways of Disgaea and, even if I don't, that reversible cover is sure gonna look sweet on my shelf :datass: .

I will probably be *well* into the game by the time you start, Dragon... so I could provide tips if needed.

This game looks stunning on the switch screen. Pin point sharpness. Trophies too, real nice touch. Love this game.

Have you played previous games in the series, Karl? This is my first tentative step into the world of Disgaea and, even though it already feels like things are gonna get pretty complex, the pacing seems fairly welcoming at this stage.

Yeah, Pattybean, it does look really good on the portable screen; I haven't tried it out in TV mode yet. The little details help to bring the game to life and the soundtrack fits in well.

Thanks - I suspect that the learning ramp is going to get pretty steep as things progress! I'm just coming up to the hour mark so generally this is a re-walk of the demo so far and, to be honest, I'm happy to go over some of the systems again. This time around I - unintentionally  - did some different attacks through aligning different members of my party. It's going to be cool to see how these things develop. Keep locked into Disgaea, dood!

It's my first Disgaea, and while they were fine I should admit I err, haven't actually been that big a fan of any of the tactical JRPGs I've played before, like Fire Emblem... that makes my excitement seem silly, but hear me out! I was interested in Disgaea because I'd heard about its ridiculous depth, great sense of humour, and high level of polish. I'm a huge fan of Sid Meier's Civilization because it manages to present a huge number of tweakable settings and overlapping mechanics via - crucially - a world that doesn't take itself too seriously. I'm pretty selective when it comes to committing to playing a game through, but when I noticed these traits I find so appealing in Disgaea I knew I had to give it a go.

It's been a lot of fun so far. Seraphina is great, all the cutscenes have been hilarious, and I like the different personalities you can give your recruits. On the gameplay side I'm enjoying trying new things with the combat to see what works -- the best moment so far was when the game explained "Of course, if you pick up someone who has already picked someone up, you form a tower..."

I've enjoyed the characterisation so far, too. A couple of reviews have disliked the voicing and the storyline but - admittedly only ninety minutes in - I'm finding it to be a lot of fun!

"Of course" . I have done a few attacks that have looked really cool but I'm not quite sure how I did them. The way that characters can team-up and even use other characters as weapons is weird, intriguing... and brilliant :toot: .

For what it's worth, I think the Japanese-language voice acting is better -- you can change it in the settings menu, and the dialogue text will remain in English.

Ah! I didn't know about that... I'll take a look the next time I'm getting down with Disgaea!

Cleared the first episode yesterday, and most of the second (I'm assuming), and I love it. Parts of it are a little daunting, I'm trying to ease myself into it. It looks so gorgeous on the Switch, vibrant and sharp. I've purposefully not taken any of the special content, (classes, money and weapons) from the DLC shop, or whatever it's called. I didn't want to take away any of the challenge and get bored too soon (they gave you 1 million HL; perhaps it won't seem so much when I'm further into the game). I like the juxtaposition to Fire Emblem, in being encouraged to sacrifice Prinnies by throwing them at stuff. I'm playing with the Japanese language track, already I can imagine a few characters being horrific with a US dub (the big red guy in particular). There's already a couple of things I'm not sure I understand, I thought I'd fulfilled a couple of side quest requirements to unlock some classes, but seemingly I haven't. I'm not quite sure how I check a character's rank.

It's so nice to be playing another game on my Switch. I haven't touched it since I finished Zelda (which admittedly wasn't that long ago), but I went from Zelda to I Am Setsuna and then Ys Origin both on PS4, and I just longed to be playing on my Switch again. I've fallen hard for this little console, and can't wait for Splatoon 2.

Yeah, a lot of the DLC content seems quite overpowered -- but the game gets really hard towards the end, I hear, so maybe it makes more sense in the late game. I've only taken out the generic classes, because I figured some more variety in the available classes wouldn't be game breaking (I've only recruited a Cleric and a Witch so far anyway). I won't take the rest until I already have equivalently powerful stuff.

A million HL is absolutely nothing. The DLC stuff only helps you breeze through the first few chapters without much of a grind. You should take it all.

Are the Disgaea games connected story wise? I have 1 and 2 on PC and would rather play them first if 5 is linked via story,

5 isn't tied to any other game. In fact, the only story link that exists is between Disgaea and Disgaea D2 (not to be confused with Disgaea 2).
