I ended up somehow getting a kill against me on mission 2, but I'm absolutely positive I didn't kill anyone. The only thing I can think is that for some reason the injured doctor I spoke to that ended up getting killed by the Jekyll/Hyde character ended up counting against me because you can somehow progress without talking to him

Ended up just carrying on because I really didn't want to play the whole level over again.

Yeah I've somehow picked up two kills on my play through even though I've been going for an exclusively non-lethal approach. The doctor seemed like a possible candidate, but there's always the chance that an unconscious body was attacked by rats or flies (do they do this, or is it just corpses?), or possibly one of my sleeping guards was placed more precariously than I thought and fell to their doom? Either way I'm not an achievement whore so don't particularly care, but if the stats could show a cause of death it would be helpful!

New patch out for this on PC today apparently - not seen any reports on what it achieves yet though.

I've heard talk of a performance patch so it might be that.

There was an initial patch, but the second PC patch is out today I think.

Just finished The Clockwork Mansion and I'm seeing a few flaws. One bit that annoyed me was the bit behind the station, just before you head to the mansion. You head out the back as there's a Rune there, and a lady asking for your help. You approach her and 5 Howlers attack immediately. I cannot see any way to do this non-lethally unless you just run away. I tried not alerting her, but she triggers as soon as you enter the yard.

I ended up tricking them all into a Wall of Light.

For that part I went over the fence to the right of the station and behind the tree to a hidden alleyway. You can disarm a few traps and sneak up behind two howlers to knock them out. From there you can pull up onto a wood cart above and domino the other three then hit them with a tranquilizer dart. Got the rune and totally non lethal.

It's a trap set up by the Howlers, they do a similar thing in a later mission as well - pretend to be in distress to lure the player into an enclosed area.

I managed to take out 3 or 4 silently - there's two in a sort of alcove that you can choke without being seen, and one behind some crates that you can sleep dart and get away with it. But eventually someone spotted that something was up so I had to improvise!

You could probably distract them with a smashed glass and it may trigger the AI into a patrolling state at which point it may be easier to KO everyone.

There's a bigger annoyance that I spotted later, I think it's mission 6:
Two Overseers are reading a list of crimes to a pair of citizens and eventually will execute them if you wait long enough. Obviously I wanted to save them so I sleep darted and choked the Overseers, but this triggers the spawning of two other Overseers out of thin air who then run in and attack you. I've scoured the area around here prior to triggering the "execution" event and these extra two Overseers definitely do not exist unless you attempt to intervene. Very annoying and enemy spawning definitely goes against the nature of this type of game

Good one I do like how the different powers open up new ways of overcoming obstacles. I was playing as Corvo so don't have the benefit of Domino - I could have bought the stop time power and tranquilized them all in one go though!

Domino is the best power. The best. Believe me.

No seriously though, it's great.

I'll probably pick Corvo for a "kill everyone in sight" play through.

Thanks for the replies to my question.
Apologies for late gratitude; I've got Year 11 mock exam marking coming out of my ears. Probably won't get to settle down in front of this again until Saturday night earliest.

Tried the patch out tonight, no appreciable difference to my eyes. They've added some graphical options to play with but performance is still wonky in general.

It's always been playable for me, so this patch not seeming to do much isn't the end of the world personally, but it would have been nice to see it iron out the kinks.

It's always run OK on my set-up (i5-6600k, GTX1070) but the patch has gotten rid of any slight judders and thanks to the triple buffering now actually looks nicer.

Just finished the Conservatory. I still think the hostiles seem to notice you a lot quicker than in Dishonored 1, and I still find myself save scumming, but I'm definitely enjoying it. I'm looking forward to getting it finished, then going through with Corvo on High Chaos.

I think AI perception has improved to a degree, but it's shame that they haven't increased their perception at different heights - i.e. you can pretty much avoid anyone so long as you are ever so slightly above them.

Also AI perception of noise is still very lacking - you can be fumbling around, knocking things over and generally creating all sorts of noise right by a guard and they won't bat an eye. They also don't seem to hear when their friend who was stood right next to them gets tranquilized or choked. Sound propagation in general is a bit off, with some conversations sounding like they are right next to you when those speaking are actually miles away, and others being hard to hear when you are almost right on top of them.

About to enter the Stilton manor mission. Which I think is the one where you get to see the past and present versions of the same location and move between the two Should be fun!

Man, I don't know if its down to the shitty performance souring my opinion, but even when I just try and play this and ignore the performance problems, I really am not enjoying it at all. Ive been save scumming like a banana split because combat just seems so strawberry floating lame, the second it starts its over (on hard), you just get rinsed, the window for parrying feels tiny, and even if you do parry some strawberry floater elsewhere just shoots you. Starting the Clockwork Mansion and getting locked in the room with a bunch of clockwork soldiers just made me say strawberry float it and turn it off. I put 70+ hours into Dishonored 1, got all endings, loved it to bits. This has just done nothing but frustrate me from start to finish.

And then it crashes after being spotted by those strawberry floating psychic clockwork guards again. The gooseberry fool cherry on a shitty sundae. I hate those strawberry floating clockwork guards so much. Sneak up behind one? They can see out the back of their head! Air assassinate one by pulling its head off? Turns out they still work just fine without a head!

Ain't nobody got time for this gooseberry fool.

Ive uninstalled it. strawberry float this game. Maybe ill give it another try next year if the performance is ever fixed but for now I'm sick to death of it. The clockwork mansion is the worst level I've come across in a long ass time. Killed any desire I had to play it further.

Just started on this today. So far I'm enjoying it. Done about 3 hours so far.

I'm playing on easy and full kill everything that moves mode. I love the rat power and have upgraded that a few times. Love the freedom and the secrets too.
Wish my image sig would work

Only just got around to completing this.
I think for me the game started to wear out its welcome a bit and didn't have the staying power of the first one for some reason.

Also the ending was pretty naff. Did a Low Chaos playthrough and the ending was basically "You win, s'all good. Bye"
