Hmmn... my "Deluxe edition" stuff isn't showing; I only have the standard stuff. I've looked online but can't see anyone else reporting the problem yet.

It seems that the issue with the extra items for the Switch version should be resolved. I'm gonna go logon and check in a while!

20 minutes in and it just feels like a slower, crapper version of My Time at Portia and that game wasn't very good to start with. Best option might be starting a new Stardew game.

I got my gear; Gameloft were aware of the issue and sent the missing stuff to the in-game mailbox :toot: .

Oh! It's a shame that you didn't enjoy it, Rex. It's funny how tastes can differ; I bought Stardew on Switch and never got on with it - even though I"m a fan of Animal Crossing. Yet this... I'm really enjoying it! I've met Scrooge, Mickey and Goofy and I've started to tidy up the mess in the town. There seems to be a lot to do and, having made a little progress, the "time of day" has shifted to reflect real time i.e. it's night-time in the Valley right now. It looks lovely as the sun is setting.

I collected the first few tools and then spent some tokens (that came with my edition of the game) to got some neat Cars stickers and a cool black-and-gold tshirt that teams up well with my black cap. So, yeah, great fun so far!

Enjoyable game, but it's massively unstable. Frame drops, stutters, sometimes even the music struggles to properly play, and I've had a few crashes across the day of play.

First character I brought to the Valley was WALL-E (how could I not). The quests are mostly just fetching stuff, creating stuff, and the like, but it's fun to work toward being better friends with these characters and opening up new areas (which I think I'm close to doing).

Isn’t it early access? To be expected I suppose

Indeed. If they care about the game's success, it'll get fixed before the early access period is over. Nothing to really worry about. Game autosaves about every five minutes anyway.

I noticed that you'd put a bit of time into this on Switch :-) . Yeah the frame rate isn't fantastic and I did experience the music go wrong for a few seconds... thankfully still no crashes, though!

I gotta give a shout for how good the music is; the orchestral compositions are terrific and really have that Disney vibe.

That sounds really neat; I haven't got to that stage yet.

I did a bit more exploring this evening. I went fishing and opened up the shop run by Scrooge McDuck.

Oh, yeah. The music is great, merging recognisable Disney themes with some origninal stuff. I instantly recognised what I know as the Mickey Mouse Club March from Kingdom Hearts. Loved to hear it when it appeared.

It is neat how the music changes sometimes around a different character/building. I'm not actually that much of a Disney buff; I recognise most of the characters but that's about it.

I struggled with the fishing at first as I wasn't sure on the timing; but then I understood that you have to wait for the larger circle to just cover the smaller one. I managed to catch a few after that and I sold 'em for gold. I haven't done any cooking yet; I'm guessing that I'll need to get a cooker for my house once I can decorate/update it.

You'll come across the stove easy enough following the journey to get access to the castle.

On a side note to my previous experience, the Mickey Mouse theme that plays just had me singing the Alexei Sayle theme tune instead.

Alexei Sayle, Alexei Sayle, we love to hear him swear on the TV!

Oh, I know it's not. But that's the only thing I recognise it from. Not having seen the origin of it.

I've played the game for a few days now and I'm really enjoying it. As it's early access there have been a couple of things that haven't quite worked, but updates to the game are made very quickly.

There is a lot to do; gameplay is very much like Animal Crossing and other "daily life" games but this has plenty of additional tasks/missions, too. In some ways I think the gameplay is (gasp!) perhaps better than AC with tools not breaking and plants not getting squashed. It's a bit more welcoming in terms of quickly getting (and being able to move) your house and with step-by-step lists of what needs to be done next for the various tasks. Character customisation is very well done, too.

So, yeah, four days in and it's great :-).

Oh, and the next two (free) character/area updates have been announced:

Glad to hear you’re enjoying it Jawa, to be honest if I wasn’t part way through Xenoblade with other games downloaded or on the horizon I’d have probably given this a go with it being free, it does look like it could be quite good really!
