I swerve them all like a mummy strawberry floater. Waste of money and time, and they’ll never be good as the originals. I was at my sisters one Christmas Day, they had Aladdin on, the size of my wtf was just tremendous. Disgrace.

I got dragged to see the Lion King remake at the cinema. One of the most pointless films I've ever seen.

I caught most of it on TV once and it just felt a bit soulless to me, so many of the scenes were like for like with the original but with none of the character. If you're going to remake it try and do something interesting at least.

i have mixed feelings on the remakes over all. beauty and the beast was good i felt (and that's the one least likely for me to let off light). aladdin was alright, lion king was a bit meh. couldn't bring myself to watch mulan, they cut mushu. the trailers for cinderella looked very cringe worthy. i am curious to see what they'll do with all the others. thought for peter and wendy and the aritocats i imagine they'll cut the sterotypes

Only good thing about the live-action Beauty and the Beast was Evermore. It's a banger.

Cinderella was decent enough, but every other live-action film has been pretty redundant since the original animated versions still stand up (see: the Lion King/Mulan/Aladdin). If they concentrated on remaking the old films that might have questionably racist characters/sections then I'd get it, but remaking the films that are pretty well regarded as some of your better ones just seems like setting yourself up for failure. They're working on a live action Lilo and Stitch at the moment, which just seems insane. A "real" Stitch would just be nightmare fuel.

Give us the Aristocats without the siamese cats, if you please.

Isn't the main purpose of a lot of the live action remakes to retain copyrights more than anything else?

Are you saying the original beauty and the beast doesn’t hold up?!

Also it’s the siamese cats in lady and the tramp that says that

For some of them maybe, but it's definitely not for properties that still have 60/70 years of copyright attached to them like Aladdin or Lion King. It's a money-making exercise as much as anything else.

True. I can't believe I've just done that  They've even already redone Lady and the Tramp.

But no the animated Beauty and the Beast is included with the rest of the animated versions that still stand up. It's iconic  Emma Watson could never come close

Alright then we have no problem

I love the original

I have a 12 month code from Samsung but I cannot find anywhere on the Disney+ website to redeem it. When I go into my subscription settings my only options are to pay by Credit Card or Paypal, or switch from monthly to an annual plan. There is absolutely nowhere to redeem a code that I can find anywhere.

Did you get it redeemed? Found the page here: https://www.disneyplus.com/en-gb/redeem

Thanks!
Though when I try that page it pops up and says my code is only valid for new Disney+ subscriptions, which is confusing because the offer website says it can be used for existing accounts and also the sign up process for new accounts doesn't even give you the chance to redeem a code.
I suspect that the issue might be that I've already got a code providing my sub until 30th December.

More confusing though is that in one place the web page says "Your unique offer code to be redeem before 14/10/2022", yet further down the page it says "you have until 31st March 2023 to use it" and then another part of the page says "Users who generate their code today will have until 30th November 2022 to redeem it", so really consistent messaging there Samsung.

I gave it an 8 in that other thread. I enjoyed it a lot but it wasn't perfect.

I’d give it 7 myself for much the same reason

Sometimes a 7 is better than an 8.

My saga to redeem my Samsung code for 12 months free Disney+ continues with no progress.

I had 2 extra accounts that I then deleted (One my former US based account and one I created in an attempt to use the code, but there was no redemption option when creating a new account) so now that the deletion process has completed I attempted to try and re-create a new account. Both addresses will not allow me to create an account and instead prompt me with a message "Your account was deleted. If this was a mistake contact customer services"

So you haven't really deleted my account then have you since you've kept the e-mail address.
Disney are clearly making a big push to make it difficult for people to cancel and re-create accounts to try and make use of promotional codes.

My main account is on a promotional code until 30th December, but my 12 month code from Samsung is completely unclear when it's valid until.
The page where the code is displayed says it must be used by 30/11/2022, but then another page says "You have until 31st March 2023 to use it". So my current best option looks like it's going to be to take the risk and wait for my current sub to expire, then try to redeem the code, and if it fails to work take my case to Samsung with a screenshot of the 31st March 2023 page, which is what it tells you if you press their "I already have a Disney+ account" next to the code. Yet the exact same page has a section called "How long do I have to redeem my code?" and it says "Users who generate their code today will have until 30th November 2022 to redeem it". However right next to that is a link to the terms and conditions, which once more say "The Disney+ Code is redeemable until 23:59 BST on 31st March 2023"

So I'm confused as strawberry float.
