It's a new dissidia game made for arcades and made by Team Ninja. It's based on PS4 hardware, and the arcade controller is literally a dual shock 4 cut in half. It's got a years arcade exclusivity, but looking likely to have a PS4 port afterwards.

I want to play Dissidia, are you able to buy them on PSVita and play on them? I only ask because I'm sure you couldn't with Final Fantasy Crisis Core which I also want to play ):

So I posted this in November 2008, when the thread was started.

I genuinely can't remember what I bought. :slol: :fp:

Well, I jumped in and picked up FF Dissidia NT for £17.99 (regular disk version - I ain't payin' PSN's ridiculous digital download prices). I watched a ton of YT reviews before I purchased, so I knew what to expect (or at least I had a good idea). It's barebones, but there is an offline SP where you can still earn loot/upgrades/progress/unlocks, etc. That's good enough for me. It's pretty frenetic gameplay, though - and it's all just so much gobbledygook to me as I struggle to understand the multitude of button presses necessary to actually get the best out of the gameplay. Somehow, I earned a ton of stuff on my first clueless attempt at a string of 6 games against the AI.

Visually, it's a treat to see so many (28, I think) FF characters in HD, each with a set of 'dress-up' options (and customisation). The level maps are nice-looking but nothing to get too excited about, although there is some variety. I guess the question now is whether the game will get any further DLC apart from the odd additional character/clothing/weapons pack? Would be great if the devs produced some more actual content in terms of modes, but I think it's probably safe to say that the title hasn't performed too well critically or financially... so maybe not.

For FF fans it's worth picking up (disk version) at these bargain-basement prices (or even second-hand). The unlockable cut-scenes are great-looking (but full of the usual incomprehensible FF script writing).
