PostE3 Fighting Thread | Handheld SFXT | SFIIIOE Revealed!

I know this is what you came in here for...

GGPO online, and YouTube match sharing.

Perfect.

-------------------------------------

He may be a pesky little cocktease but Ono and his mini Blanka have been at it again, perching atop competitor's games and teasing E3 reveals...

Image
Image

Street Fighter X Tekken blowout? Most likely,. Street Fighter 3 Online Edition Reveal? It bloody better be. Will we see anything else? Has Ono finally got the big a-ok for Darkstalkers 4? Is Viewtiful Joe Red Hot Rumble 2 set for XBLA? What about Capcom Fighting Jam 2 *snigger*? Don't forget that Ono spoke very highly of fighting games for portables, so a big 3DS or NGP reveal doesn't sound too unlikely.

------------------------------------------

What's more, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 producer Ryota Nitsuma has been spotted at Capcom's USA HQ, with their community site teasing 'I wonder what he's doing here?' New characters for the beautiful MvC 3? A Hyper re-release akin to Street Fighter's Super? Or something completely unrelated?

Image

------------------------------------------

Then we have Namco Bandai who will undoubtedly have some tales of swords and souls to tell us, and a bit of Tag Team scrapping, but will we finally get a peek at Tekken X Street Fighter? Who knows, but this 'trailer' for their E3 conference clearly says 'Fighting' with its arcade stick. Being licked.

------------------------------------------
Netherrealm are throwing their chips into the ring by showing their further support for the recent MK9, the first taster of which is the upcoming DLC character Skarlet.

So Skarlet will be playable at E3... I refuse to believe that Netherrealm are setting up a stand for one DLC character, I expect a few more to show up.

------------------------------------------

Personally my fingers are crossed for Arc System Works appearing with a show stealing brawler, they spoke recently about a new entry in the main Guilty Gear franchise with a completely new art style so perhaps there was something hiding behind their tease? Then we have Netherrealm, clearly happy with the performance of their MK reboot will they have some reveals or future titles to show? the gaming public has been crying out for MK Mythologies Sub Zero 2 for a long time, is it time to appease them?

Then there's Nintendo, with a new handheld and new hardware being revealed it seems silly to think a new Smash game won't be shown to a hungry gaming public...

Anyway, I'll try and keep this thread updated with all the latest fighting scraps leading up to and including the show itself.

I'm going to say "nay" to ArcSys and Netherrealm turning up. I can't see them having footage ready of a new game so soon after the release of the last one (admittedly in the former case the "last one" was a handheld port. But then again, I would expect ArcSys would be paying more attention to the Tokyo Game Show).

Namco to show plenty of Soul Calibur 5, and I wouldn't be too surprised if they knocked together a Tekken x SF build to compete with Capcom's version. Also I won't rule out Tekken Tag Team in some form, even if said form is Tekken x SF. Capcom to reveal SF3:HD Remix and more on SF x Tekken. I wouldn't rule out more MvC3 DLC either (if ArcSys can make DLC characters using no info from the disc, Capcom sure as hell can), although I wouldn't be surprised if that was accompanied with a re-release (a la SSF4:AE).

I'd appreciate a Super style update to MvC that adds such missing components as online match spectating... That really should have been there in the first place.

Pack that in alongside a replay suite similar to SSFIV Arcade and a handful of new characters (about four from each side at least) and I'd be happy with that as an update. Oh and fix the event progression...

If I'm going out on a limb I'm going to guess that Capcom might announce that SSFIV Arcade will see a 3DS release as DLC for 3D Edition. It still seems shortsighted to not include the arcade characters considering their developments must have run pretty close, and at the same time it would be ace to see a studio offering big post release DLC for a 3DS game.

No doubt there will be a Super MvsC. Considering it sold well and wasn't/isn't supported much after release has been peculiar.

It would be nice to see SF ruining on NGP and seeing what power it has. I would have thought pretty much identical to the console counterparts

And of course we had better see SFIII, Ono!

Actually, I wouldn't be too surprised if that happened eventually, making this April Fools resemble the Jarate announcement in TF2. Would I expect it at this year's E3? Nope.

The only reason it hasn't happened was that of licensing issues, but Guilty Gear is now firmly back in the hands of Arc System Works so yay!

That and/or the company being busy with Blazblue and porting Arcana Heart 3. But since they released Accent Core Plus over here (or at least Zen United has, which for all intents and purposes is Arc System Works Europe), it's safe to say that they have the rights.

But as I said, I would not be expecting a Blazblue x Guilty Gear announcement at E3. I'd imagine they'll be more likely to announce something like that at the Tokyo Games Show. And I doubt that they'll announce anything other than perhaps more BlazBlue this year.

I'd love a new console Dead or Alive. The 3DS version is great.

I hope the Namco conference is just someone explaining the Tekken backstory for an hour.

I'm guessing there will be more DLC announced for Mortal Kombat.Has it been released in Japan yet? Maybe Capcom will publish it in Japan and add one of their own characters to the game to help it sell? That big dude from Shadow of Rome would fit. A juicy tomato fatality could be cool. :shifty:

I'm going to be super optimistic and say that 3S:OE will be released before E3 is finished, or maybe shortly after.

Believe.
