Apparently they're due to attend 10 functions tonight.
Or 7? A lot, anyway.

In what way?

It's just an example of how Obama's all about change/hope, until he needs to go "old school" to appeal to the "right" voters and avoid making too big political waves :P

I bet he isn't eating Abortion Donuts either :(

To reach a wider audience, they should have made Keifer Sutherland a special guest, just to stand there and be serious. And I'd love it if Obama just went up and said "Caaan you dig iiiiiit?" over and over again.

Talk about a load of nonsense. I'll bet any non-christians in the audience were fairly pissed off, there.

Whatever happened to the seperation of religion and the state? :|

I think it's Obama's concession to the right. To appear inclusive to everyone.

But yeah, so much for separation of Church and State.

O, there's a lot more to that. Presumably, as a compensation for this, Obama had Gene Robinson speak out a prayer at the inauguration concert yesterday. Robinson is the first openly gay, not celibate bishop in the US. The whole concert was on HBO TV... except this prayer at the opening. HBO said this was instructed by the Obama team. Try googling "Gene Robinson" and HBO. I was surprised at the number of hits.

I think this has always been part of this. And the division of Church/State in America has always been a bit...iffy. FFS doesn't the Dollar bill say "One nation under God" on it?

Edit - Yes Dandy, I'd seen that.

I thought it was one of the Bee Gees.

And that prayer rattled on for what seemed like an eternity. i thought the pastor was going to jizz all over the place.
